Super had been keeping a low profile since he had gotten here. Life had gotten more awkward since the lake formed. The water made him feel uneasy and the blood in the Dark Hour was worse. He’d spent most of his time in the forest trees being something he hadn’t seen that much of back home, And at least he could eat the berries. It wasn't to bad.
But that really wasn’t enough was it.
This stupid lake blocking his way to the canteen! He didn’t care how bad the gruel was at least it would full him up. He was tired of being hungry. It seemed so much worse right now and he couldn’t do anything about it!
Super paced the edge of the lake of blood angrily. Every part of him itched to do something. He wanted to explore the new wasteland, he wanted to break something, he wanted to burn the hub down and sweep the ashes into the lake.
The hedgehog wanted to tear the whole Void apart and find the exit.
Oh great, it was Super again. What was he doing, pacing up and down like that? Espio muttered something under his breath, leaning back against a house wall. Their last encounter hadn't exactly gone very well, and Espio wasn't going to apologise for it (hey, as far as he was concerned, it was justified), but...
Espio wasn't often around during the Dark Hour, really. He had a tendency to sleep right through it. However, from the few different occasions he'd actually been awake at this point, tonight didn't seem any different from any other night. How was he supposed to know? He didn't get that strange feeling.
"What are you doing, stalking up and down there?" he called out, it being intended as a casual greeting rather than holding any kind of suspicion.
Super spun around at the sound of the voice. Fists already clenched and he only seemed to get angrier at the sight of the lizard.
"What do you want?"
Super blinked at the second voice. Sonic?! Super would have to be blind not to recognize the hedgehog as the same one that had been in the papers before he had ended up here. But when had he gotten here? And would he call him a monster too?
"So you're stuck here too huh?"
The yellow hedgehog narrowed his strange eyes and watched the other two. He wasn't going to walk away from a fight this time if it came down to it, in fact, he almost hoped it would come to just that.
Cure Dream had shut her eyes and clamped her hands around her ears. This was wrong, this was wrong, this was wrong, what was happening to her!? It felt like the time with the Mask of Despair, only she knew she didn't have one, and it wasn't telling her to lose hope. It was telling her to attack people. This couldn't be happening.
Well I'm an awful person, but not awful enough not to help a fellow Baka! :<sees_reaperJuly 28 2009, 05:13:40 UTC
Ryoji himself had been having some issues--it was clear the moment the Dark Hour hit. It was as though all of a sudden he was connected to Nyx again; in the back of his mind, there was that OTHER presence--the one who wasn't Ryoji, but who rightfully had that other form. The Nyx Avatar... wasn't another being. Moreover, that form, without Minato's human influences, would be like his two-way phone to Nyx. His... 'mother'. And he was feeling the effects; the rehash, of these thoughts: aggitation. Sudden wont for pity. But he knew it wasn't him; he could fight it. He'd be fine--they were just whispers to his mind, after all.
Nozomi, on the other hand, looked MUCH worse off than he himself did, so Ryoji took the time to approach her... wasn't she human? She had powers like he did, but if Nyx was affecting her, too... what was going on? He'd left his scythe at the Labs; his Evoker he kept, as a safety blanket. If somehow he became controlled, he didn't want that scythe hurting anyone.
She forced her eyes open and shook. "Ryouji-san...?" Dream slowly lowered her arms, obviously fighting to stay in control of herself. "Something really weird is going on!"
... Just as he thought. And in the back of his mind, the Shadow within him took a moment to straighten up and try to take control. A human deserves Death, it whispered, and Nyx agreed with him; whether or not he was connected to her could be a delusion, but it had much the same effect. There was a moment as he paused, took a deep breath, and kept his Evoker out, like one might use a Cross if they were facing a vampire. A useless endeavor, to be sure, but it helped him keep his thoughts--Ryoji's thoughts--together.
"I... know. I feel it too," he said, taking a few steps closer to her before he caught himself and stopped; forced the Shadow within him away, She's my friend; I won't hurt her, he'd tell it, and remained blank in expression... an unusual seriousness for him. "Nozomi, what... are you feeling? You didn't see anything around here, did you? You're not hurt, right?"
Because if this was the work of Shadows, it was very possible it explained his sudden condition.
Attack/rescue thread?kyonko_narratesJuly 28 2009, 06:50:42 UTC
'You know, after going through this however many times so far, you think I wouldn't be unnerved by it. The coffins, at least, you'd think I would be used to. The resident lake of blood is no question. If I ever got used to that it would definitely be time to stick me in a white coat and haul me off!
Now where did Ryoji get to?'
Kyon wandered through the buildings in the residential area, keeping an eye out or a familiar yellow scarf or head of blue hair, yawning into one hand. She hadn't been sleeping well lately tanks to worry about girl-Haruki and with girl-Mitsuru--('I will never get used to this.')--in the mix it was hard to get more than a few hours' rest if she wanted to be up during the Dark Hour.
A shadow ducked by her feet and she jumped a little, spinning to face the glowing green eyes it possessed before she came to her senses.
oh god I tl'dr so badmewandimprovedJuly 28 2009, 20:00:48 UTC
He felt alive, certain in his purpose for the first time since his first step on this bizarre floating island. It made so much sense. Humans were scum, he had always known that. The real question was what to do about them. How humorous that the answer was the most straightforward approach imaginable: find them and destroy them one by one. They were no match for the greatest Pokemon that had ever existed, Mewtwo.
It wasn't enough to merely kill them, though. They had to know how low they were. He wanted them to feel terror, to know his judgement had arrived and that they had fallen short. That night, Mewtwo was an angry god. A god who had been used and betrayed, and would now take his revenge. Humans screams would nourish him as much as their flesh would after. He was hungry, and there would be plenty to spare soon enough.
He stood perfectly still in the residential zone, waiting. His first victim- no, his first plaything was moving nearby. She would beg for death

But I LIKE TL;DR! 8^Ckyonko_narratesJuly 28 2009, 22:16:08 UTC
It was the cat that tipped her off. It gave a startled yowl and ran off with a hiss.
She knew that behavior, having seen it on her own cat once or twice.
'Right before my brother--'
Instinct drove her to duck to the side just as that laughter invaded her head, but the aftershock of the blast was still enough to knock her off her feet and she looked around for the source of that horrible-horrible--laughter.
'Did this hour turn into even more of a horror film when I wasn't looking?!'
GOOD there will be more of it in the future!mewandimprovedJuly 28 2009, 23:31:31 UTC
Mewtwo rose, covering the distance between them in almost an instant. Extending an arm, a bright blue glow surrounded her, wrenching her from the ground and lifting her to his eye-level.
It felt awful. Crona, hunched over and whimpering as she awkwardly walked across the Residential Zone, didn't know what to do. True, Crona never seemed to know what to do about anything, but she could just feel something was wrong. In her blood, in her mind, the hell in her head, something was telling her to do horrible things. It was just like back then! Back with Mistress Medusa!
She couldn't, she couldn't, she couldn't! Those feelings were wrong! She couldn't take anyone's souls, couldn't betray Maka, couldn't possibly want to do any of these things! Why? Why would she want or need to do any of those things anymore?
Not watching where she was going, she stumbled over a stray rose branch, thorns scratching up her leg. She had to go to the forest! Maybe if she went somewhere nobody else would go, those horrible thoughts would go away? Maybe? Would that even be possible?
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" she suddenly screamed, voice cracking with distress. "I don't want to hurt anyone anymore!"
