Attack/rescue thread?kyonko_narratesJuly 28 2009, 06:50:42 UTC
'You know, after going through this however many times so far, you think I wouldn't be unnerved by it. The coffins, at least, you'd think I would be used to. The resident lake of blood is no question. If I ever got used to that it would definitely be time to stick me in a white coat and haul me off!
Now where did Ryoji get to?'
Kyon wandered through the buildings in the residential area, keeping an eye out or a familiar yellow scarf or head of blue hair, yawning into one hand. She hadn't been sleeping well lately tanks to worry about girl-Haruki and with girl-Mitsuru--('I will never get used to this.')--in the mix it was hard to get more than a few hours' rest if she wanted to be up during the Dark Hour.
A shadow ducked by her feet and she jumped a little, spinning to face the glowing green eyes it possessed before she came to her senses.
oh god I tl'dr so badmewandimprovedJuly 28 2009, 20:00:48 UTC
He felt alive, certain in his purpose for the first time since his first step on this bizarre floating island. It made so much sense. Humans were scum, he had always known that. The real question was what to do about them. How humorous that the answer was the most straightforward approach imaginable: find them and destroy them one by one. They were no match for the greatest Pokemon that had ever existed, Mewtwo.
It wasn't enough to merely kill them, though. They had to know how low they were. He wanted them to feel terror, to know his judgement had arrived and that they had fallen short. That night, Mewtwo was an angry god. A god who had been used and betrayed, and would now take his revenge. Humans screams would nourish him as much as their flesh would after. He was hungry, and there would be plenty to spare soon enough.
He stood perfectly still in the residential zone, waiting. His first victim- no, his first plaything was moving nearby. She would beg for death
( ... )
But I LIKE TL;DR! 8^Ckyonko_narratesJuly 28 2009, 22:16:08 UTC
It was the cat that tipped her off. It gave a startled yowl and ran off with a hiss.
She knew that behavior, having seen it on her own cat once or twice.
'Right before my brother--'
Instinct drove her to duck to the side just as that laughter invaded her head, but the aftershock of the blast was still enough to knock her off her feet and she looked around for the source of that horrible-horrible--laughter.
'Did this hour turn into even more of a horror film when I wasn't looking?!'
GOOD there will be more of it in the future!mewandimprovedJuly 28 2009, 23:31:31 UTC
Mewtwo rose, covering the distance between them in almost an instant. Extending an arm, a bright blue glow surrounded her, wrenching her from the ground and lifting her to his eye-level.
'Wait, haven't I seen this guy around--what is he doing?! I've never done anything to him! Why is he--'
Who could blame her for her disjointed thoughts and the thrashing she did when she was suspended in a pale blue light? It was a natural instinct to be afraid. This.... thing might have been something she tended to overlook in the void--('He didn't bug me so I didn't bug him!')--but it didn't mean he wasn't dangerous and it was fairly obvious her life was in danger right now if how 'Shamisen' had reacted was any indication.
'Note to self: When a cat freaks out--don't bother to look around. JUST RUN!'
"What are you doing?!" she managed to shout, ignoring his demand.
"I am going to kill you," Mewtwo told her. He brought the three fingers on his outstretched hand nearer together. The aura around her tightened in response, a little display of how easy it would be to simply break her right now. "Then I will eat you. Your name."
'I know there's a shortage of good food, but this is ridiculous!'
Her heart hadn't pounded this hard in a while and she choked a little from the tightens, too scared to speak for a moment. The last time she'd been in an even similar situation to this a boy with blue-black hair had been approaching her with a sword, seeking to kill her to get a reaction of some sort out of Haruki.
"Why?"
It was all she could think to say, her mind unable to really comprehend the situation beyond the need to stall him as long as possible. While she thought this thing was weird, she hadn't thought he was the sort to do this. From what little she'd seen of him it didn't make sense.
'Then again, you never get to know a person that well when you only see them in passing and never speak to him. For all I know this is what happened to the people who.... disappeared....'
Wrong answer. The fingers moved nearer together for a moment, the aura shrinking again. He held her like that for a more than a quarter of a minute, then loosened his grasp to allow her to breath.
"Because of what you are. Because humans are pathetic, weak scum who deserve the death that I can provide. You are so selfish and so cruel, using and betraying others whenever it suits your purpose. Your race cannot be redeemed." Mewtwo's tone grows a little more fiery. "I should have done this as soon as I arrived. There are so few of you here; this place, at least, will be free of your influence. And it would be a shame to let good food go to waste, Kyonko."
She visibly gagged when he choked her, somehow managing to reach up towards her throat as if there was something she could pull away from it.
'At least I somehow wind up with the psychos willing to explain themselves.'
"How did you--" she started then caught herself. She hadn't told anyone the more ridiculous version of that name and if he was speaking directly into her mind then obviously he pulled it out of her head.
"So what makes you better than a human?!" she attempted to argue, getting the feeling it was futile. This wasn't just her on the line here, if she didn't at least get him to step back every person in the Void would be in trouble because of this thing. "What makes your kind stand above us? What makes you any different?!"
'Like reasoning ever does work in real life. Sigh. I'm doomed.'
"I can do this!" he responds, his arm suddenly swinging out. The force holding her suddenly gives in to a different, harsher one that blasts her up and away from him. The force is enough to keep her in the air for several seconds before she smashes into one of the coffins that materialize every night.
For one brief second, after being suspended in mid-air, everything went white and she wasn't sure if that shriek she heard came from her or not. Most likely. This thing, for as little as she knew of him, wasn't the type t shriek like that.
Shakily and still visibly dazed she managed to sit up and looked up at Mewtwo with a dark glare.
"So what? How does that make you any better than a human?"
'Okay, seriously. Am I suicidal or something? Where is this coming from?!'
"Do you require further demonstration?" he asked, clearly enjoying this. "Very well." The blue aura returns, lifting her to her feet firmly. It remained in place, but only as a support. It would be funny for her to just fall back over, but it wouldn't satisfy his taste for the dramatic.
"Kill me, human. If you can do so, you are the superior being. If you can't, I will keep you alive for as long as I can. I have never eaten a living being before." He sounds almost playful, teasing. He is a cat with a new and excellent toy.
She visibly balked at the challenge, eyes going wide and her mouth hanging open before she could speak.
"How would killing you make me better than you?!" she cried. For some reason, even though she knew he would, she couldn't seem to grasp the concept of being eaten. Killed, yes. Eaten, no. It was most likely the shock or the idea of someone using her as a snack was such a foreign concept to her she couldn't quite grasp it.
What she did grasp was she was in for a slow and painful death if she didn't figure out how to get out of this situation.
'And killing's out of the question. Even if I could, that'd make me no better than him!'
(fff, I'll be gone for a few hours)mewandimprovedJuly 29 2009, 02:40:12 UTC
The support vanished. "Time's up," he declared, sounding almost disappointed. It wasn't fun if she was just going to stand there. The scream from earlier had been a lot more fun. He wondered if he could force another out of her. Hmm.
Mewtwo's arm shot out again, and the aura returned around her. He smiled at Kyonko mockingly, holding her in place before sending her flying again, further this time. He wasn't aiming for anything this time... aside from breaking her.
And I went to bed. >.>kyonko_narratesJuly 29 2009, 15:48:35 UTC
'I wonder what it say about me that I just can't seem to be "here" right now. It's like my mind and body have separated from this and my body is on autopilot. You think I'd be more afraid, right? Thinking I'm going to die? Maybe panicking a little. But, no. All I can do is let him toss me. It....isn't so bad. Floating like this....
Of course, the landing is another matter entirely.'
She hit the ground with a sickening thud and a pained shriek on the other side of the residential area. Instantly, she was on her feet--or knees, rather. Just getting to that hurt too much and she clutched at the pain blooming up one side of her chest.
HAI GUYS also Mewtwo can go after Ryoji and that will be our order~?sees_reaperJuly 30 2009, 00:20:15 UTC
Ryoji had been fighting this feeling now for a good amount of time, but it was getting harder. Admittedly, he'd been standing close by, watching all of this go on, some strange, sick part of his person enjoying this--the part of him that was the Appriser; that was Death, that was a Shadow, that was Nyx's little puppet. He managed to finally pull that aspect of his mind out of his way by the time Mewtwo had thrown Kyonko, and he quickly wasted no time practically running up to the young human girl and getting in between her and Mewtwo.
He couldn't do anything else--he wanted to help her; heal her, help her up, anything! But the Shadow part of him, the "true self," what he truly was... was Death. And it enjoyed seeing humans have their desires fulfilled... and all humans desired to die. So why should he help her? After a moment, he barely manages to utter a weak threat to the Pokemon:
"I won't let you kill her..." was what he said, but he sounded unsure of it himself.
Now where did Ryoji get to?'

Mreow!
"Shamisen?!"
