Hello!
I studied MUCH TOO HARD for my Math 1190 midterm on Thursday. When I pull study benders or stay up late AND/OR get up extremely early more than two nights in a row, I GET PHYSICALLY ILL. So, I managed to stay well right up until the second my midterm was over. Then I started to feel tired and gross. I ignored the tired and gross feeling so that I could go to my second math class. After that math class, I felt REALLY disgusting. My throat started to hurt a whole lot. I sat in the hallway outside of a classroom waiting to give a classmate some notes I'd made that I wanted her to see (regarding our term project) and I half slept/half studied in a sort of ill daze. Then I went home and RESTED. I made myself cup after cup of tea and glass after glass of watered down juice. I turned on the television, cuddled up under a dozen blankets, and dozed on and off.
When I woke up the next morning, I could hardly swollow! I stayed in bed ALL day. I slept almost ALL DAY. I was hoping that I would be 100% better by Friday night so that I could go to Lauren's birthday party. But, I only felt worse as the night went on. So... I missed Lauren's party. I am sorry Lauren!!! Missing Laurens party was extremely annoying for me because A. I love Lauren and I was really looking forward to her party B. I love cupcakes and making cupcakes and C. I was supposed to go with Allison and I love Allison. So, getting sick was a big let down in the socializing department.
Friday and Saturday blended together as I slept for the majority of those two days. But, today I woke up feeling marginally better. My throat is itchy now instead of painful. It still feels like I swallowed a bunch of razor blades, but... less razor blades than before. I was well enough to meet Aaron for breakfast with my brother. We talked about senators and prostitutes and rock stars and monkeys.
Then, I went to make sure the colour of my new glasses was right. I will be getting my new glasses on FRIDAY. I hope everyone likes them as much as my old glasses. They are similar, but different.
After that, I went to Langara for a little bit to study. Then I took a study break to spend an hour at the Vancouver Aquarium. I watched Cindy and Sesame for EXACTLY ONE HOUR. I spent the majority of my time focusing on Sesame today.
SOMETHING ABSOLUTELY AMAZING HAPPENED WHILE I WAS WATCHING THEM! Cindy groomed Sesame!! I have never seen her do that before!! It is ALWAYS the other way around. It looked absolutely hilarious because Sesame is SO SMALL and Cindy is MUCH LARGER than him. Sesame sort of disapeared under Cindy. He looked DEAD. Flopped limply over the branch as Cindy poked and prodded him. So, I guess I was wrong before... Cindy DOES groom Sesame sometimes. But... still... it is rather disproportionate. Sesame spends quite a lot of time grooming Cindy and I have only ever seen Cindy groom Sesame once. Mind you... this is all completely unscientific and absolutely no proper conclusions can be made from my observations as they are not statistical. It is entirely possible that Cindy grooms Sesame ALL MORNING before I get there in the afternoon. It occured to me today that I should probably bring in a check list next time so that I can record the exact times of different behaviours if I want to be able to draw any serious conclusions about my two favourite little non-human primates.
Today I also noticed that Sesame is pretty much the same colour as the trees they have in the enclosure. It is like this in the wild too.
Now I am EXHAUSTED. I am going to have a NAP so that I do not relapse. My throat is still disgusting looking so obviously the virus is still infecting it. I need to keep my body rested and hydrated if I want to give my white blood cells a fighting chance against this unwanted house guest. I am assuming it is a virus because I don't want to go to the doctor even though it looks like strep. I don't have any interest in taking antibiotics ATM (irrational, but that doesn't change anything) and anyway... I'm already getting better, so it couldn't possibly be strep.
After my nap I will work more on my term paper for school.
P.S. I am loving school again.
