dear massenet, thank you for an extremely beautiful and extremely easy piece, love LK

you gotta love a piece of music when you can sight-read both the vocal line and the piano accompaniment at the same time and end up pulling it off better than fairly well.

jules massenet's "crépuscule"

in the accompaniment, the left hand plays all of four chords.
the right hand plays half note chords.
simple, yet gorgeous.

this makes up for all the work i'll be putting into "les filles de cadix" by leo delibes.
but it's sooooo friggin cool.  i spent a while working on it tonight.  i'll have it for my recital, no worries.

i can't decide... i'm not really tired, so i want to stay here and keep singing/playing horn... but i should write that stupid journal and maybe go home and get some sleep eventually.  but i like making music.  i don't really care about how ancient greeks described heroes and how we describe heroes today.  i care about vibrating air in various ways and at various frequencies to produce artistic sounds.

...back to making up for a week of not enough music-making...

recital, school, voice, music
