It occurs to me that in this fine language we call "English", that not all verbs are conjugated the same way. We call these "irregular verbs".
I would like to thank Meghan for bringing to my attention that I gave no respect to these "irregular verbs" in my recent post.
Even in these verbs that we create from other, everyday words, we can find these intriguing, yet frustrating, "irregulars".
It may help you to know that, in most cases, the irregularity in these create-your-own verbs occur in the conjugation of the "y'all" form.
Just a couple examples that were particularly brought to my attention:
to cookie
I cookie.
You cookie.
He/She/It cookies.
We cookie.
Y'all cackie.
They cookie.
to pumpernickel
I pumpernickel.
You pumpernickel.
He/She/It pumpernickels.
We pumpernickel.
Y'all pimpernickel.
They pumpernickel.
I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused in the delay of this information. I sincerely hope this clears up any confusion.
Thank you.
profundity,
psa
