someone's stolen christmas

I miss Christmas. i remember when i was little, christmastime was the best time of year. everything was perfect. my family would come in and visit. we had family gatherings almost everyday, either with my moms side or my dad's. it didnt matter, it was always great. and my dad brother and i would put up our old leaning christmas tree while listening to christmas music or watching a christmas movie. when we went shopping, everyone was happy. even though it was really hectic, all the shoppers had this happy look. all the stores played happy christmas music, and the salviation army santas stood outside ringing their bells. everyone wore red and green and sweaters with santa on it. nothing could mess up this holiday. it was even better than my birthday! but what's happened? christmas..has changed. i no longer get a happy giddy feeling when i listen to christmas music, instead, i feel sad. shopping has become a burden. my house has not had a christmas tree put up in at least the past 3 years. taking our family picture is like a "duty" now, rather than a fun family outting..it's squeezed in, not made time for. it used to be that the whole 2 week holiday was funfilled and happy. but now..all i get is "have you finished you homework? what? we have to get another gift? you better dress nice for this. no you have to come. alright..it's time to go, but right when we get back, clean your room." what's happened to christmas spirit? eveyone has become so caught up with their own lives that they have made christmas into a burden, rather than a time to celebrate Jesus' birth, give gifts to your loved ones, and spread holiday cheer. do you really go to see christmas programs because you want to? do you really enjoy it for being a christmas program? or do you just go because your kid is in it, or you feel you have to because it's christmas and it's a "christmas thing to do". i miss christmas. do you? if you do, and even if you dont. will you please do something for me? today..take a little time out of your day just to spread some holiday cheer. just, make someone happy today. make them feel special. even if it's just a smile. thankyou.
