American Idol was postponed to tomorrow and Thursday because President Bush had to give a speech. I don't hate the President, but I'm a little annoyed with him right now. It's childish, I know, but this is all I have on Tuesdays! Plus, the results show is going to collide with the new episode of Friends on Thursday! This so throws off my schedule.

This girl owes me money. This has been going on for almost a month, but I think I've given up on it. She owes me $20 (well, 22, technically). It's been a month and every day I see her, she has some new excuse. Some of them are as follows:

"I'll pay you back tomorrow. My mom took it from me."

"I had it all ready to go this morning, but I was running late and in such a hurry that I forgot it. I'll bring it tomorrow."

"I don't have it today. My mom is bringing it sometime either today or tomorrow."

OK, and the even more outrageous part is this: She originally owed me ten dollars, but she comes up to me and says all she has is a twenty and asks if I can give her a ten and she'll give me the twenty. OK, so I give her the ten. Here is what she says AFTER I have given her ten more dollars that I will never see again.

"OK, thanks. I don't have the 20 with me today. I'll give it to you tomorrow."

AND THEN...one day she has the NERVE to ask me to borrow MORE money! I do have it, but I tell her I don't because I'm beginning to learn. I had been venting about it to a friend of mine and when I told her who it was, she told me to forget it. Apparently, last year this girl borrowed money from someone and did the exact same thing. The kid (in my shoes) went to the principal and told him. Honestly, I don't see what jurisdiction the principal has; it's not like she stole it. He willingly gave it to her. She just hasn't paid him back. Is that the same as stealing? Verbal contracts aren't valid right? ANYWAYS, the girl is crazy and she eventually files for a restraining order against the kid harassing her for his money. So I think I can officially kiss the 20 bucks good-bye. At least now I know not to ever lend her money again.
