To those of you who write:

I've been wondering about this for a while. What is your absolutely favorite thing in the whole world to write? I'm not talking pairings or genres. I'm talking specific scenarios, like arguments or banter whatever else you can come up with? Is there one thing in particular you love writing so much that your fingers start to itch when you think ( Read more... )

ramblings: writing is a joy and a pain, ramblings: allow me to use the soapbox

For some bizarre reason I get off on arguing. The energy in a fight scene just makes me squee. As much as I love romance, and sex, a great argument can't be beat. :)

Oh, I totally hear you. My favorite thing in the past was definitely arguing. It's awesome, all that tension in the air. Yeah, I love those as well.

lol

i think its cuz those are the most passionate things to write.

I mean sex is just sex, most of the time its about raw physical need. Kissing and fighting are about pure emotion

Witty banter!

I seriously love writing little Nsync ficlets (that no one will ever see) that usually end up just being alot of meaningless dialogue. I usually get the ideas from topics from my friends.

I'm not sure why, it just amuses me so much.

Hee! That's so great - I'm completely rubbish with witty banter myself, but I totally get why you love it. When you know you've got something good going on, then it's ridiculously fun. :D

It's hard to pin-point one thing because it depends so much on the story itself. For example, I've been writing this one story that no one is ever going to see (and deep down, I think that makes me a little sad, but anyway...).

So, yeah. I've been working on this story for years (read: started in 2001) and at different points in the whole writing process different scenes have been my favorite to write. The last one that I was really excited over was the scene in which he proposed. I was just all fluttery and giggly; it was a good feeling.

Yeah, that's true. Sometimes there's a scene in a story where something really specific has to happen that's the cool part to write.

Proposals are so effing great to write, and it's not often you actually get the opportunity so I totally hear ya. I wish it was possible to write those more often. :)
