ES--

This is absolutely unacceptable! Do you think you're funny putting these disgusting noise makers everywhere?! Just what is the point of this prank? If it were only certain people at certain appointed times, it would be much more affective, but not EVERYONE all the time! That is simply overkill. At any rate, IT SHOULD CEASE IMMEDIATELYMoving ( Read more... )

Its was funny at forst. When it happens to other peoples. Den it happens to me, and it's not so funny.

And, uh... governments is people telling other peoples to do things, and dey halfs to do it.

I soooo agree. Just like these noise things.

Yes but don't you think there should be more to that? No one tells anyone what to do in ES and yet people do still function. We don't have a government but things are still governed...

Ew I'm going to get wrinkles if I keep frowning about this.

Oh! And governments also has to guards you and keeps you safe and make sure everything is perfect for you. But um... I think dat's it?

Why's it makings you frowns?

Guards you--well there's the most obvious example of why we don't have a government here. That and the total lack of anything resembling civic beauty.

Because I don't understand myself. I'd rather be thinking about Iris' latest creations but instead I just keep thinking back to this conversation I had with Scales and Hybrid...

...This must be what other people feel like! Confusified and discombobulated!!! OH! ALEXI HOW DO THEY DEAL WITH IT?!

I wish it would stop that easily. On the bright side they make great hot water bottles.

...Ah, it depends on the government. Some are ruled by the people so they have a say in how their lives are shaped,

while some are run by rulers who decide how things are.

Ruled by people? Which people? How do these people come to rule?

The rule by Rulers is more familiar to me. I keep expecting this to exist in Edensphere but I suppose its possible it doesn't. What do we have here then?

It's kind of a drag, but hey, I'd rather have a few whoopie cushions than a different body or an evil twin.

And a government is there to protect the people. That's what kings and queens do.

I suppose that is true.

Kings and Queens--yes that is familiar. So I'm not the only one who thinks there is goodness in the government?

feathered_earth April 1 2009, 23:36:38 UTC
Of course not. Royalty works for the people. It's their job to see that things run smoothly and that people are safe.

I remember that leaders should be encouraging so people have faith in them. &hearts Oh and they should be examples to the ones to follow them.

Although we don't seem to have that here do we? But what you say sounds right.

Government? Well, make sure the city runs with trade and all that, for one, which doesn't exactly apply here, seeing as I don't know of any other cities. Making sure people don't kill each other is another one. Another major function seems to be generating as much paperwork as humanly possible.

Oh Trade! I hadn't thought of that! But I guess you're right, that doesn't apply here...good thing since economics is complicated!

Paperwork?

I wouldn't mind seeing another city, myself. They keep traffic in check, too, make sure everybody has jobs so there's no protesting and all that. Or there's just a King who sits about telling everybody to do.

I'd think of all the... mysterious happenings as a sort of government, really. They're something everybody gets angry enough about so that they don't spin around and start killing each other.

Paperwork. You know, sheets of paper with numbers on 'em that need signatures and [His writing stops here]

Well, it doesn't really matter, anyways.

Luckily I live alone, so the ridiculous cushions, while still aggravating, don't cause too much of a scene.

It's not silly at all.

I know we have differing views on this subject, but- I think a government is someone who wants to keep its people safe and happy. It treats them all fairly and works to make sure that no person suffers from oppression. It works so that everyone under its rule will be happy; and when there's a problem, it finds a way to fix it that benefits everyone.

It's not for making people "feel good". It's about fixing problems when they occur, so that others can live in peace. It's not always easy, either. Sometimes, for trying to make things better, you get hurt along the way.

Yes well...what if someone thinks--hypothetically of course--that the government isn't treating everyone fairly. I mean beyond the natural strata that exist between classes that everyone just lives with. Then what?

Also, there's nothing wrong with making people feel good! &hearts

No, no- there's nothing wrong with it. :)

Well- hypothetically- I would go ask the Wi- ask whoever was in charge to fix it.

Except here no one knows who that is. Oh why is this place so backwards!
