My "irritated throat" progressed into a full-frontal sinus infection, complete with incessant coughing, sneezing, and a complete lack of voice. All-State auditions were hell. Both my choir teacher and I were convinced that I was not going to be accepted, but much to our surpirse, I was indeed. My seating, however? Absolutely embarrassing.
I am totally cultivating an enormous adoration for a boy. Oddly enough, it's not really a romantic sort of adoration, moreso an interest in friendship...or really, as of right now, mere acknowledgement. This is cryptic, I know, but it's difficult to explain. Perhaps I am just going through some major kissing withdrawl and I'm drawn to the most unexpected, taboo prospect available. Hah.
Anyway, I suppose things have gotten better as far as my frustrations with my intelligence are concerned. I'm still irked by it on occasion, but for the most part, I've learned to set my worries aside, especially since the holiday season is quickly approaching and I'll have zillions of other things to worry about.
Speaking of holidays, Thanksgiving was spent entirely with Michele. WHAT a character. One of my dearest friends is closely comparable to my younger sister Kelly, whom I despise, and yet, we become inseparable and annoying when we are together. Chel came to Thanksgiving at my aunt's house, and from there, we proceeded to her aunt's house down in Bear for a SECOND Thanksgiving dinner. We nearly burst our buttons.
Before the feasting though (how quickly I am to forget this...possibly because I'm purposely blocking it from my memory) the AI band performed in the Macy's Day Parade in Philadelphia. The night before we stayed over in the Crowne Plaza hotel and awoke at the crack of dawn (before, actually) to get ready. I've decided to spare the details because it was a rather miserable event for the most part. Moving on.
The following day I skipped the Wilmington Parade and the Concord Mall parade and slept for almost 17.5 hours straight. I kid you not. I went to bed at midnight and woke up at 5:20 pm. I spent the rest of evening at Michele's house with her and Kala watching Hook and The Newsies. Fascinating, I know. And it gets better. Saturday I went to play rehearsal early to paint, and then we practiced until 6:30 pm. From there, Jess, Kala and I went to Kala's house and made dinner (raviolis and coffee), hung out, and watched movies all night.
Today I cleaned.
Marvelous weekend overall, no doubt. I loooove having friends, and great ones at that.
This week, however, will be utter and sheer hell. Oh boy.
