Harry Potter... check!
After being told for several years by family, friends, strangers, and my SO, that I should read the Harry Potter books, this June I succumbed, and started reading them, in order, sometimes with other books thrown in in-between.
Well, I finished Half-Blood Prince last night -- wow. Now I get to sit out the torturous wait for the next book.
Although slow starting, at first, as the books went on, I found myself being more and more drawn in to J.K.'s imagined world and characters, particularly as her writing became progressively more visual in the last few books.
And, although between clues left by J.K. and bits of spoilers I may have gathered from conversations (nothing which spelled it out) I had guessed at the ending of HBP, I was still quite emotional through the last 50 pages of the book.
I am proud to say, at last, I am a fan.
