Busy, busy, busy, as always. Been working like crazy to try and get things done before Spring Break next week. I have a 5-page paper due Friday, and I've already got that sucker outlined and ready to go. And I'm way ahead on my reading. This is exactly where I was hoping to be work-wise because I want to get the translation done over break and have my term papers for the other three classes at least at the stage where I have a topic and general thoughts for all of them. On top of all the reading, etc., I'll need to do over break anyway.
Guys' Night II was a success: Shutter Island was a solid, enjoyable film, and S'wings' wings are always delicious. Also had fun at the birthday party on Friday and the Purim party on Saturday, though I left early because of this weekend's one downer, namely my ailment. I have a nasty little cold going, but I'm already medicating and eating like a dozen oranges a day, so hopefully things will turn out okay on that front.
And it better be gone by Saturday, just like the work better be done by Saturday, because come Saturday, this kid is leaving town, and he's ready to roam. I'm so excited to get a change of scenery. Plus, Montreal is a totally new place for me, and Boston is still my favorite city in the world. I can't wait to be away from the stress and craziness for a couple of weeks and do some fun, laid-back stuff instead. I have earned this break, believe me. And God bless Yale for having a two-week Spring Break to make it all that much sweeter. Of course, the week following break will be pure and unadulterated Hell (happy birthday to me), but I'm choosing not to think about that yet.
Anyway, back to reading Barthes (of all literary theorists, Barthes just may be my favorite... dork alert, dork alert, I know) and then Chuck is on later. A chill but productive evening awaits. I wish you all the same.
