When he was handed his cup by the very disinterested looking clerk and headed over to the soda machine, eventually choosing what was supposed to be a strawberry drink and filling his cup up with it. "I freely admit to not going to all that many fast food restaurants," he said to her with a slight smile.
He followed her to the booth and sat down across from her. "Considering I'm trying to figure out what this food is made of, I wouldn't exactly call this place boring and trivial," he joked. Well, it was mostly a joke. For something that was supposed to be a combination of chicken and beef, it didn't look much like either.
Finally he took a bite of the sandwich he ordered, chewing on it for a second, trying to decide if he liked the taste of it. He swallowed and took a sip of his drink. "Hmm...definitely an interesting flavor," he admitted. Not horrible, but he wasn't sure if he liked it yet or not.

She watched with a quirk of her eyebrow as the Doctor sampled his own food. She wondered if Timelord taste buds were different from regular human taste buds. She smiled to herself, "Interesting is a good word for it. I may be old fashioned, but I think I prefer just some simple McDonald's." She continued munching on her burger, stuffing a few fries into her mouth in between. She hadn't realized how hungry she was.
After devouring half of her meal, she washed it down with her drink. She propped her chin on her palm as she leaned on the table, "So, Doctor, why do you think the TARDIS brought us here?" she said, lowering her voice for any prying ears. "I mean, it's clearly not an alien planet. It just looks really normal and small. One of those 'nothing ever happens here' kinda towns," she said with a shrug.

He much preferred the fries here, actually. The sandwich had some strange aftertaste to it that he couldn't place, but it didn't belong to beef or chicken. The fries tasted normal, though, so he decided to stick with them, eating a few of them with some tomato ketchup. He took another sip of his soda after eating a few of them.
He wiped his mouth and fingers with a paper napkin while he thought about why the TARDIS would have brought them here. "I'm not sure," he said after a moment. "It's kind of rare that the TARDIS decides to take us where she wants," he said. "So I assume that she wants us here for a reason. This may or may not be a place where stuff happens to often, but I think something may be happening here soon."
