Here's the scoop...

Well, I'm officially moved in!  At least, all my stuff is there.  As for being put away.... not so much.  But it's productive.

I currently have no internet at home so I'm going to be awol for probably another week.  I don't have time to post anyway.

The new place is a bit different, although it's in the same complex.
The good things: One, we have an extra half bath.  Nice.  Two, we get our own washer and dryer (see gushing and bragging below).  Three, we have an upstairs and a downstairs - and I decided, while clumping my big ole' butt up the stairs with the fourth large trash bag full of my clothing, if I ever go clothes shopping again, I should be whipped.  Four, I get three extra inches in my kitchen, plus a window!  This makes me insanely happy.  Now if only I had a backyard full of flowers that don't need watered or have weeds, and it would be perfect!
The bad things: The sliding glass door comes equipped with two locks and a bar that chains on for extra security.  All but one has been ripped off of ours.  Fun.  Two, we have a significant leak in the upstairs bathroom, so all the necessity stuff that was below the sink is now ruined; luckily it was only feminine products and q-tips, although both are very important.  Three, we have no water pressure when we turn on the hot water.  Taking a shower in a trickle is fun and interesting.  Four, we have various other little things that needs repaired around the place; you would think that the place hadn't been looked at from the maintenance men in a year, though they were there 2 weeks ago, supposedly.

My washer and dryer are beautiful!  They actually aren't hooked up yet (blastid maintenance man bailed on us Saturday) and the dryer got scuffed on the very front, so we're getting touch up paint and $75 back.  But they are there!  In my house!  My Maytags are so purty!  I've never been more excited to wash dirty clothes.

My kitties are panicked and super annoying in their neediness, but they are adjusting.  They both feel safe in the upstairs, so it's coming along.  However, now the new fun thing to do is sit on the top of the stairs and mewl pathetically until someone come up and spends time with them.  Their lonely, but too chicken-shit to come down the steps.  We'll get there, I repeat to myself.  Over and over and over.  It takes time, we'll get there.

And I have to say, my mom is an amazing woman!  Not only did she and my dad buy our washer and dryer for us, but the whole weekend was organized chaos with her there, as opposed to just chaos.  Thank God for Virgo's and their organizational skills.  I'm not sure who's more excited to make a new home, me or her.  She's at my place right now, painting.  Because she wants it to be done when we get home.  She's so damn cute.  And getting on my nerves, yes, but I'm extremely grateful for all her help, so I'm putting up with it.

Off to check email!  I hope to check in later.  Blessings to all!
