The Big Time Reality Question (a.k.a. Jen needs sleep!)

Jun 02, 2012 07:14

So, my crappy insomnia had me watching BTR at 6:30 in the morning on a Saturday. Ewww. I have all the episodes on my DVR, so it's not like I would have missed anything if I'd been asleep! But at any rate, today's BTR was Big Time Reality. Sometime during the course of the episode, Griffin decides at the end of the reality show season one member of ( Read more... )

Ohhhh ohhhh I wanna play! This is goooooood. To be honest from a simple skill syandpoint the weakest link is most obviously Logan. I'd never wanna kick him out under normal circumstances y'know? Him being there makes them BTR and he's got charisma and he's funny and he's hot and I like the quality of his voice. But I think the show is always poking fun at it because there's some truth behind it. Logan (Henderson) is the first to forget or mix up a step they've learned over and over (it's been said in interviews) and yeah he can flip but so can James. His voice isn't nearly as strong or rich as carlos', as powerful as james' or distinct as kendall's. He doesn't play any instruments. (Kendall's guitar skills) and he can beat box but all of them can (except for Kendall who is so extremely white that if he ever tried and succeeded I'd eat my hat.). Point being, he's not talentless by far but if I HAD to kick someone out in RL, I'd kick out the one that's going to mean the least talent lost. And that's Logan. :( God that was depressing ( ... )

I'm gonna have to go with you with this; not in showverse, but irl. I am ... on the fence about Logan. I feel like I really should love him more than I do, but there's something about him - for me - that holds him at arm's length. I know a lot of people feel that way about James, but I think James is just like that. I don't think many people ARE close to him. Kendall is just love. He just is all this goofy warmth and awkwardness, and his voice can do things none of the other's can. And Carlos, well - he snuck up on me. He was cute, then cute-ER, then just HOT and he seems like the sweetest guy imaginable. Plus his voice is definitely strong, rich - it ties the songs together, sandwiched between Kendall's vocal acrobatics and James' show-stopper abilities.

I've been thinking about this lately - not who I'd kick out, cause I never would - but I have such a strong favorite in Kendall, then Carlos, then James and I just feel bad that I can't like Logan more. Ugh, idk. I don't make a lot of sense on this subject.

Ugh ikr? Like Carlos so wasn't my favorite by far and then he just snuck up on me like a sneaking thing! He was cute and then SUDDEN HOTTNESS. And his voice is the most classical to me which just gives me warm fuzzies because it's lovely. But even when not singing his RASPY VOICE is so super attractive. I've always had a thing for the rasp.

It hurts my heart kind of a lot to think about this.

Showverse I would probably kick off Carlos... I mean, seeing BTR in their real lives and seeing him wear that helmet? I think that would be kind of weird. It's cute quirk for a character on a tv show, but if it were real life, I dunno.

In real life? That's so fucking hard.... I could never get rid of Logan. His voice is amazing. He's so charming and funny and flirty and not to mention beautiful... I think I would get rid of James. And that's basically based on vocal talent. His voice mixes well, but there are just sometimes I can't stand how it sounds.

Sad question.

I'd have to say James, showverse and real life. I have no good reason for this. He's just always been my least favorite, although he's far from the least talented, IMO.

And even my least favorite BTR member is better than my favorite of most anything else.

I agree. Although I sometimes think he is the most all-around talented member of the group, if his voice were missing from the music I think it would have the least effect on the band's sound as a whole.

(tl;dr): If I were a viewer of that reality show in the showverse, and I had to vote off one (not that I ever really vote in reality shows), I think it all depends on how well I knew each of them from press junkets and how I liked their music and each of their singing ability. Them being interviewed/etc. happens seemingly rare when we watch the Nick show so how well would I know and feel for those boys? I love the boys so much and know so much about them and if it were any other group of some sort then I wouldn't care as much. I would've thought if I had to I'd vote off Logan or Carlos, but even James might not be safe with me. But I really wouldn't want to vote off anybody, it was a really stupid wrench thrown in, fans shouldn't have to vote off a band member unless there's something serious going on where one may need to be dismissed.(/tl;dr)Logan Mitchell, maybe I wouldn't want to get rid of him because of his smartness as I like that in a person in real life as Mitchell would be a part of my reality (but I'm less sympathetic to ( ... )
