SO HERE'S THE THING. This is where the show finally had me for life. ("Finally" in this case meaning "this was the first full episode I saw.") Because I was straight out of HSM fandom and sulking because it was dying out, but seriously, Varsity Vampire is 100% DEAD ON. Like. If you haven't seen "Get'cha Head in the Game" in awhile,

The writers really know how to do fond parodies and that one was perfect.

And that's the thing: I love how fond it is. Because it's way easier to do mean parodies, but BTR doesn't generally go in for anything nasty. Heck, the show as a whole and this episode in particular (and Bad Boy, come to think of it) is loving parody of the whole boyband shebang. And as someone who legit loves boybands, I appreciate that the show embraces them as fun and silly instead of calling them stupid, which a lot of parodies do.

YES. That's one thing I really love about the show. It's all one huge reference to all the boybands and fake band shows that have come before it, and I respect that a lot. I like snark and shows that do it well (Community), but I don't think it would fit into the world that exists on BTR, and I love it for that.

Everything the writers have done with Dak Zevon is A+ to me. Especially Varsity Vampire and when he taught the guys proper fan interaction.

I also think it's pretty great that they gave Curt Hansen something to do on the show since he basically lost the role of the main character. That version of the pilot was fucking weird though.

It's missing the element that brings the boys and the show together as one cohesive piece: KENDALL SCHMIDT.

I love this episode, and how the guys end up doing what they want for the shoot. Dak is funny, and I think I like Curt better as him vs the main character (I agree fever_play, the pilot was just *weird* with him.)

And I love Marcos!! :) and the stuffed puppies... :)
