Pokemon: Awesome Seiyuu~! <33
Hey there, minna-san, how are you? Good? I hope so...
I have been watching Japanese Pokemon eps over the last couple of days, and have heard some wonderful seiyuu as Pokemon and characters of the day.
First, there was Yamaguchi Kappei (Usopp in One Piece, L in Death Note) as Tooru/Todd and Hikozaru/Chimchar. I am so happy I finally got to hear Tooru's voice~! As for Hikozaru, he's the talking one from the second Pokemon Mystery Dungeon special.
Next, Takayama Minami (Nabiki in Ranma 1/2) as Hiroshi/Richie. The voice is definitely different to the dub, but I liked it. ^^
There was also Iwanaga Tetsuya (Sei-Lan in Angelique, Tarou in Cafe Kichijouji de) as Rikao/Seymour. I don't know if I'll ever be able to look at Sei-Lan and not burst into laughing after seeing him in that episode! He's the scientist who Ash and friends met in Mt. Moon. I was surprised that the poetry was added to the dub, but I still find him to be a funny character.
Yuuki Hiro (Omi in Weiss Kreuz, Marcel in Angelique) was Dario, he was the kid with a Dodrio in The Flame Pokemon-athon. I'm not used to hearing Yuuki-san as a nasty brat, so it took me a while to get used to the fact that it was him.
In the same episode, Laramie Fuuko/Lara Laramie was voiced by Shiratori Yuri (Angelique Limoges in Angelique, Sayo in Negima). When her voice was loud, I couldn't recognise her, but when she spoke with a softer voice, that was when I recognised her!
I heard Tobita Nobuo (Lumiale in Angelique, Akabane in Get Backers) as the Yomawaru/Duskull in Camp Pikachu (Pikapika no Hoshizora Camp), and oh god, did I have to hold in my squees, he just sounded so darned cute~!
Canna Nobutoshi (Randy in Angelique, Ban in Get Backers) was a Heigani/Corphish in the second Pokemon Mystery Dungeon special. I couldn't recognise him at all, he sounded so different!!
Madono Mitsuaki (Emishi in Get Backers, Charlie in Angelique) was Hide/Tad from one of the Orange Islands episodes (*squee* Tracey!!) called Lizardon! I Choose You (Charizard Chills). He didn't seem to have the kansai-ben accent I've heard in most of his characters (like the two mentioned) but I managed to recognise him.
At the moment, I am loading another episode, but I am watching it as it loads. First seiyuu I'd like to bring up for this episode is Seki Toshihiko (Sanzo in Saiyuki, Luva in Angelique), he voices Ken, one half of the Pokemon Mystery Club (PMC). I'm watching the Advanced Generation episode in which they make their comeback. He's using a voice similar to his normal tone.
Reason I chose to watch this one is because of Mary's seiyuu. She had a different seiyuu the first time, but in AG, she's voiced by Shindou Naomi (Kuroudo in Crush Gear Turbo, child!Ban in Get Backers). Mary is the other half of the PMC.
Seriously, I have done so much inner-squeeing over the last few days, and it's still not over yet! I'm going to download these vids and make a (new) compilation video: Neoromance Seiyuu in Pokemon.
