Anime Squee Coming Up
Hey there, minna-san! How are you? Good? I hope so...
Okay, so yesterday, I went to Hardcopy (the store was originally Videoland before they moved), and I hired a couple of things. Season 2 of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (The Melancholy of Suzumiya) and Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu (The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya). I've already finished watching them! That makes me officially caught up with the anime! Now, I need to read the manga and get more of the novels.
My fave male character is still Koizumi Itsuki, and my fave female character is still Asahina Mikuru, though I also developed a soft spot for Nagato Yuki, especially during the movie. I even survived Endless Eight without turning it off or just skipping to the end. I noticed among the masks that Nagato bought at the festival, they had different character shout-outs. One line-up even included recoloured Chimchar, Turtwig and Piplup, and they had Pikachu with a pig nose! That same line-up included masks of the girls from Go! Pretty Cure 5.
Now, I'm re-watching, this time the dubbed version. (Come on! It's Crispin Freeman and Johnny Yong Bosch! Why wouldn't I?!)
I was also given a free Madman sampler DVD (have not seen one of those for ages), and one of the anime made me squeal in delight. I watched it as soon as I got home.
What was it?
SAMURAI PIZZA CATS!!! That anime is a classic to me! I used to watch it all the time in primary school, even before I knew what anime was! Polly Esther is still my fave feline! I love how cheesy the dub is, it never fails to amuse me. (Oh, there was no pun intended XD) But, seriously! They're releasing a very old fave of mine on DVD at long last! I freakin' love that series, so you can bet among future purchases will be Samurai Pizza Cats DVDs!
