Must appease the fan club

Ok we are going to try this updating thing again. I tried starting this update on thursday, but it hasn't really happened. So i'm trying again to update for the last week or so. It's going to be pretty long so try to stick with me.

Evidently i have a fan club via my livejournal. That definitely makes me feel better. Now if only those pesky problems of my life would work out. But then i guess they would have nothing interesting to read. It always seems that whenever one problem gets figured out something else comes up to undermine all the work that was done. Since it has been a while since i've updated there's a bunch of stuff that's happened that only i know about. So let's see. I believe the last time i updated was weds in the lab. Wow. A lot has happened since then. Thursday night i decided to do something that i would have never thought i would do. I'm joining a fraternity. As of sunday i am a probationary member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the men's music fraternity. This should be an interesting and new experience. It looks like a pretty good group of guys joining.
And of course all through this week i've been working on computers. I've got at least 4 different projects going right now. And of course each of these jobs is supposed to be taken care of by the RCC, except that no one can ever get a hold of him and when they do he either doesn't come over or is drunk, so he is absolutely useless. Seriously though, if anyone has trouble getting on of the RCC to do their job please please please write a letter of complaint to Brad Lewis in SAC 117. And after you do that talk to me because unlike the actual RCCs who get paid to do this, I actually care about people and want to get their stuff up and running again. But the only way that i am going to get the job is if enough people complain that the current RCCs aren't doing their jobs. Right now they are getting paid to sit on their collective asses. They are getting paid for my hard work. Either make them earn their money or make IT give the money to someone worthy of the position.
Wednesday was pretty fun. I ended up not having to work because the library lab was closed, so i was able to watch Blazing Saddles with the quad. That was damn funny. After that we were right on time to celebrate Nick's 19th birthday (damn i am getting old, 205 days, 18 hours, 30 mins until i'm 21). Pretty much everyone from the floor was there and we had cake. Then it was just a floor social gathering. After a little while though Dan, Vicky, and i discussed an on-going issue. That helped to provide me with some new direction and better insights. Depending on how things work out I might be able to figure out what’s going on and a way to deal with it. I doubt that things will work out to the benefit of everyone. That is probably the worst part about this whole situation. I don’t want this situation to work out best for me. I want things to work out for the benefit of everyone. The integrity is compromised by the selfish intentions of the few.

Thursday and most of Friday really weren’t all that exciting. After class Natalie and I went shopping for her sorority stuff for walk outs and I needed to get a shirt to make for walk outs. After dinner heather made me a shirt with both Phi Sigma Sigma and Alpha Gamma Delta letters on it so I could support my sorority girls at walk-outs. Not that any of them could see me behind the really big guys in small shirts that made up the front 15 feet of Van Dusen. But I was there supporting 3 greek organizations with my letters and my PMA pin. For someone not really interested in going greek, I can really get into this. After walk-outs everyone went separate ways to put signs up on new member’s doors. Sometime after 10 we regrouped and played cards for a while. Saturday was pretty lame. I don’t think I got out of bed until 12 and I didn’t put on clothes until 5:15. The funny part was those clothes were formal. Last night I was tapped to escort new members of AGD. That was a new and interesting experience. 13 guys escorted 9 girls from the sidewalk to the house where they were passed off to be carried into the house. Of course it figures that I being the shortest guy there escorted the tallest girl in the group. Not unusual I guess. Anyway, after that they had all 22 of us (new members and escorts) sit together on a couch and they did their ceremonial stuff and then the guys stood in the middle of the room and the entire sorority danced and sang around us. Definitely new and interesting. Once we were done with that brian and I came back to bruske got drew and then went to scotty’s for food. And of course after the food came family guy. I debated for a while going out for run-outs because I really didn’t feel like going out and I didn’t really think that I would have any fun. Then sam came by and said that she was going out but wanted someone to go with her. Evidently she has similar power over me as missy does because I have yet to turn down one of her requests. She’s gotten me to go to saga when I’m not hungry and now go out to the frats when I didn’t feel like it. I’m going to have to watch that. So we ventured out on a quest to find laura, abby, amy, dan, corie, lindsay, and jenn. We stopped at sigma chi and then SAE and then theta chi. We ended up finding most everyone at theta chi and I ended up staying there for a while and moved over to sigma chi to finish out the night. It is definitely a different experience being the responsible one, especially when the normal responsible person is being overcome by a drunken person. But being the sober one allows you free rein to understand everything that is going on. And there were many interesting things going on. Some good, some bad. Some involving lost possessions. I hope everyone found their stuff ok. After getting kicked out of sigma chi at the end of the night it was back to newberry to start watering everyone. I stayed until everyone was unconscious and then I headed back home so that I would be able to take care of stuff in the morning.
Mornings after are always interesting because you get filled in on all the stuff that happened elsewhere. There are always good stories. Really since brunch I have not accomplished anything. I’ve watched dozens of episodes of family guy and spent most of the time working on this incredibly long update. At 7, brain and I went down to the PMA general business meeting and that was interesting and informative. And tomorrow we start new member meetings at 11:30 pm Monday nights. That will make Mondays really long since we’ll probably be screwing around a lot. Now everyone is really into the bb/pellet guns so life on this floor will be much more hazardous in the next coming weeks. Well I think that that is sufficient an update for the past week. Now I think I should get some work done before I decide that it’s fun or bed time.
