The elephant world is a wonderful one. Females are in charge. The bulls are useful for procreation and that's about all, as they are off playing with themselves in their bachelor groups.(love that thought) We were on a private game reserve, and were able to go off road and get right into the real "bush". Driving way deep into the Veldt. So our jeep got in between a large herd. There were "toddler" youngins in abundance, and we got too close to this momma's babe. She was justifiably pissed and made herself a huge presence. I loved the noise and drama she provoked (I named her Julia, as she made beautiful music). It was as close to theater as I got in SA (although, I got a huge hoot that in Cape Town there was the traveling production of Chicago! If I only had another day, I would have gone just to see a Broadway show 7793 miles or 12,541 km away from the boards! Wonderful trip!
