Creativity at it's best

So Sunday I headed over to my parents house on the far side of town with my niece. While there, I could see that she was bored out of her mind, so I decided to try my new D&D campaign story out to cure her boredom. To my surprise she was eating it up. While I am not terribly gifted as a writer, I at least try to keep my audience guessing, and I was amused that my niece was getting more and more intruiged at every plot twist I added.

About the time I finished, my niece was bursting with ideas. I found this quite humerous for her version of the story and my version were worlds apart. In her version, there were Pink Castles, little dragon pixies, both female and male primary non player characters (Good and bad; and Very valid) etc. I honestly could not keep up with her enthusiasm and unfortunately I forgot my recorder that I usually keep. I was just very pleased that I had sparked her imagination. I like to think I am a good uncle that has a positive influence.

One note on my nieces perspective; I was very proud of my niece for presenting her view. It helped me realize the flaw in my design and a perspective that I had not considered. Unfortunately I had failed to recognize this and thus maintained a sterotype I did not intend. I hope to remedy this, and at the very least this should make a few of my stories quite interesting :-)
