I love what you've done with the list and how you've added all that backstory of how Hot Dog has been taken with Felix ever since NC. I'd NEVER have thought of that and I just love this new take on this story I know intimately.

"Hardly," Racetrack snorted. "I would never say anything like that."

Hee!

You better believe I've done the chair

LOL.

"The whole applying it to sexual identity was all me. Honestly? I think people have to redefine themselves all the time. Not just with faith or sex, but anything. I was a chaplain, and I switched over to CIC. You were a clerk, and now you're a pilot. People get married, they have babies, they lose jobs, they gain friends, they find new interests… it's a process that happens all your life."

That's a really smart notion to be in this story and one that hits home for me for all kinds of reasons. So it was really touching to read it here.

And something that he really couldn't figure out the function, but he was pretty sure if he asked Hoshi or Narcho, they'd not only explain, but draw ( ... )

Oh, Racetrack, she's just so perfect here, because yes she's exactly the type to blurt out whatever she's thinking without editing for appropriateness. I really like the arc of the relationship. Brendan's hope & frustration and Gaeta's isolation and depression as they recover move at exactly the right pace. I always wanted to see the scene where Brendan discovered the pills and realized Gaeta was suicidal and your's hit exactly the right notes ( ... )

I love how you take so much from the original fic and yet still make this completely its own story. Everything with Racetrack is great- I love her here. And I enjoyed getting to actually read the list and see how intimate it was for Brendan to write it. Even though it's rather clumsy- or probably because of it- it's so endearing, so straightforward, and it really hurts that Felix hasn't read it.

Plus I love all the commentary from Brendan's friends, how everyone but him knows he's in love with Felix.

Okay, first off, I drew hearts around Racetrack, from the moment she told Brendan he wasn't be girly because *she'd* never say that. ;) And I love that her way of apologizing is to offer Brendan a free punch.

That letter he wrote to Gaeta was so incredibly, perfectly Hot Dog as trovia imagines him, and a great explanation as to where Hot Dog's babbling, inappropriate speech comes from . It's even more endearing when you know the text of the letter behind that speech. I love the way you have him write just the way he talks, with pauses and distractions and all ( ... )
