I think this is lovely. Curious Caprica Six, wanting to experience things for real instead of just conjuring them in a projection, and trying to see new ways to push forward for her people.

They're all disappointed, of course, but none of the faces around her register the leaden sense of loss that drops through her gut. She turns her back on them all and walks away from the water toward a ragged pack of trees on the dunes.
She escapes their silence into real quiet. It's warmer farther from the water; the air is dusty and still. She slides a hand up the trunk of the nearest tree and revels in the scratch against her palm.
The first time green pools against the gray sky, she thinks she's hallucinating, poisoned by this toxic planet. But she looks up again, and blinks away the deja vu that's fogged her brain since she woke up in the nebula.
This, she realizes, is what memory feels like. She snaps off a handful of bark and wrestles down a small smile as she turns back to the others.
