Lee/Laura - Working Late - T

Laura dumped her glasses on top of her book and flicked her eyes over to where Lee was snoring. They'd been at it for hours. Hours of researching thin sheets of law books for some small measure of an amendment that might be useful when she tried her next bit of political magic on the Quorum. Fat chance.
It appeared as if they were going to be doomed to failure.
Even so, the night had been pleasant. Apollo had been on top form and as charming as the day she'd first met him - all fresh faced and school boyishly endearing. Now asleep, she examined his easily spread, muscled limbs and cleared her throat; the vision blurry without her glasses. She retrieved them and popped them back on her nose to get a better look. His jacket was off and his vests had rolled up, showing the little v of hair at the base of his belly.
Her heart thumped a little harder.
“Lee?” she whispered.
He moaned and shifted, making them ride up further.
"You okay?" Helo sat down at the table across from Hoshi.
"What do you think?" There was a bottle on the table and no glass. "You must be relieved."
"Relieved?"
"That Felix is dead. After what he did. He nearly killed you and your family." Helo didn't say anything. "You can say it, you know," Hoshi challenged him. "I can take it."
"I'm pissed," Helo said. "But I didn't want him dead."
"You're a lousy liar, Helo."
Helo reached out and took Hoshi's hand. Felix had broken because he'd been forgotten. But God gave second chances, and this was his.

“Captain--” Apollo. She continues in her mind as his mouth is on hers before she can finish. He tastes like toothpaste and under that cigar and ambrosia. It’s an older than a young man like him should taste
( ... )
The New Caprica night was chilly, but Laura didn't feel it, with Bill's arm around her.
"You awake?" he murmured into her hair.
"Barely."
He kissed the tip of her ear. "Was thinking we could go someplace else."
"I'm fine right here. It's so nice to be out in the fresh air." She tilted her head back against his shoulder, looking up at the star. There was Pegasus--or was it Galactica?-moving across the sky. "How long do you think we have?"
"I don't know," Bill said, tightening his grip around her and turning her to face him. "Right now, though? I don't care."

She grinned.
She was a BAD school teacher.
