Aurora

So I've moved into my apartment in Aurora... I have no furniture (delivery Friday), no gas (turned on hopefully today) and no cable (turned on tomorrow). I do, however, have phone, electricity and internet - AT&T seems to be on the ball. I was supposed to be getting DISH, but the guy came yesterday only to find out that there's no way to position the satellite to get reception (damn apartments and their contracts and the overhangs!). On the plus side, everything is within ten minutes of me - Best Buy, Comp USA, Osco, Target... work. The selection here is a tad bit better than Rolla :-D I still have to get used to the sticker prices here though - gas is $3.21/gallon and everything else is inflated from my usually spending by about 2-3 times. At least Subway is cheaper (go figure).

I start work at IMSA (www.imsa.edu) on Monday with "New Teacher Navigation." I'm pretty sure it's just an orientation from 8a-4p. Sophomores move in on the 16th with classes starting on the 21st. they have me teaching three Math courses (MI) and one CS course. MI is IMSA's math curriculum, algebra II, geometry, trig and pre-calc all integrated into a 3 semester sequence. Hopefully the distribution will reverse itself next year.... :-o I still need to look over the MI-3 curriculum some, but it doesn't seem too horrid.

Another nice side effect, it's 76 degrees here with 60% humidity :-D I can't wait until winter!!!!
