I drove up with my mother, brother, and his girlfriend yesterday; from Austin to a small town outside Kansas City in about 13 hours. My sister, her husband, and our father came up separately, with other family coming in from California and all over Kansas. We had a brief memorial at my grandmother's grave at Mt. My grandmother Bessie passed away this morning. I'm very grateful I got to see her last month, although at that point she didn't have much to say. I'm sorry that I saw her in the circumstances I did, for my uncle's memorial service. Please keep my aunt Suzie in your thoughts and prayers, she has lost her mother and husband in the span of months.

This past weekend misphit and I went to my uncle's memorial service in Riverside, CA. Got to see a lot of family that I haven't seen since the wedding or longer, and got back to the house around 1am last night. My Uncle Ted died yesterday. I am not very good about visiting family, but it was in the back of my mind to get myself and misphit out that way to meet all the ones that couldn't attend our wedding before we lost anyone.

I failed.

misphit's grandmother passed away today.

She had a stroke on Thursday, and was in ICU on various forms of life support before her living will was available. Like our other grandmother, this living will was very clear. My iBook died a few days ago. Half the time I power it up the display never comes on, the other half it freezes in mid-boot. It saw continuous use from 2001 when I bought it, up through some time in 2007 when I started using it less and less (to the point that now, my main use for it has been as a way to view/edit my character sheet for my weekly ( Read more... )

So, looks like my PC at home is dying (or dead). Symptoms tend toward heat problems, as it consistently fails to boot somewhere between powering on and completely logging in as a user under Windows XP ( Read more... )

Three years, and I still don't understand. The best I can hope for is that some how, on some level, Ash understood I cared about him, and wanted to be a good friend... that I didn't contribute to his sense of alienation, separation, loneliness.
