Dude, what has been up with the non postings here this month? I’m so sad when I can’t get my BSC snark on. Anyways, my roommate is gone all day, these books are due back to the library tomorrow, so now is as good a time as any to recap one of my favorite Mary Anne books.

My computer freezes up and kicks me off when I try to do anything fancy, so ( Read more... )

That cover always bugged me.

Also, doesn't it look like they're skating on dirt, or is that just me?

Totally. I thought they were in the middle of a circus tent or something.

Me too! I used to think - "Why are they roller-skating at a rodeo?"

You know, every time I read this book I was struck by how much I disliked MA. I mean, there's a lot to dislike about all of the girls but MA is both annoying and spineless (with a lot of wanting people to change w/o her telling them what her problems are). UGH.

If I ever met, I'd smack a *itch.

"No, MA! Loving to read is Mal’s one dimensional trait! You love to cry!"

Heh. Oh, and it always annoyed me for some reason that the cover picture did not occur in any form during the book. I want rollerblading shenanigans dammit!

I've been meaning to post a snark lately - I even have unsnarked BSC books...just been too busy with uni stuff.

Here here! The scenes on the covers usually look kind of interesting (not the British covers, btw; those are just scary), but all we ever get in the books is a bunch of whining.

I thought about snarking this book, but fell asleep while rereading it. Initially I had this false memory that the book was about Mary Anne having an "if I can't have him, nobody can" attitude towards the Cokie/Logan relationship, or giving more evidence to my Logan Bruno, Trophy Boyfriend theory. No, it was just boring. Mary Anne and Logan always seemed plastic to me, more like Ken and Barbie than anything else.

I always think 'Bill and Melody Korman' sound like middle-aged swingers in the first place.
