We got in trouble once because we found a hilarious picture of a Lisa Frank bear laying belly down on a huge sundae. The bears eyes were like O_O, dilated as hell so we colored it in all tie dye, drew a bong in his hand, and labeled it "Marijuana Mocha Sundae". Damn, I know I've still got that feckin' thing somewhere :D

I had some great teachers taht were very encouraging and when I was picked on in junior high for being that quiet, weird, baggy/rocker clothes wearing and bookish nerd...one even told I was gonna be okay and end up being this amazing person. Because I already was and always would be.

That sounds like a really awesome school to go to! Still stick by I had a lot of nice teachers over the years but a lot of the stuff the schools did could be so assbackwards.

I think I graduated in the nic of time because we had some bass ackwards stuff, but most of the teachers (and the principal, mind) had no problem finding that one little loophole to get through it.

There was a rule going around the entire system for some time that stated students weren't allowed to pray in school. The principal said fine, and organized a weekly prayer outside the school door that was 100% voluntary. Lots of kids went to it. Technically we weren't praying "inside" the school, so their stupid little rule was obeyed :)

What, no rant from Dawn about them being disposable? (OK I can see the point there; it does seem kind of wasteful!) That said, I refused to touch the hot lunch the schools sold so I brought my own daily. I used a small cooler. I don't care if it was baby-ish or not, while the others were poking a gray coagulated lump of who knows what with a crusty fork, my fruit was cold and my soup was hot!

Actually, I remember being in junior high and it was considered TOTALLY cool to have "old" lunchboxes like we used to have in kindergarten.
