Thank you so much for the shoutout! I'm glad you enjoy my snarks!(´•ω•)♡
Even as a kid, I called bullshit on K Ron not finding her name in a baby book. Her name is Kristen. How is that not in there? I always figured it was because Ann couldn't mention Christ.
The whole 'Claudia is gorgeous and thin even though she eats nothing but junk!' thing makes me rage so hard. I only hope no girls were seriously affected by it, because that kind of talk leads to eating disorders.
Great snark! I love when people who have real world experience point out the atrocities Ann writes. Can't wait for more!

I only hope no girls were seriously affected by it, because that kind of talk leads to eating disorders.--There's so many ways to interpret that imo. Yeah, there's the people out there that are really active and they're able to keep their weight down by doing what they normally do in a day--no eating disorder. And then there's the eating disorder path. There's no way in the world I'd be making comments about how a person eats to begin with. But I know I sure as hell wouldn't say it to somebody I don't know at all/barely know at all. It just seems awkward or bitchy as hell no matter how I word it

Oh, I know. I put a lot of blame on these books for spending a good amount of my childhood and teens worrying about gaining weight. Since it was always put in the light of the worst thing that could happen to you, I always thought that being fat must be horrible and you'd be treated like dirt. No one in my family cared about weight so these books really were a negative impact. I'm just glad I wasn't influenced enough to ever end up doing anything harmful to myself. But I still feel worried over the fact that some girls may have just because Ann is a horrible writer and hates fat people.

Mal stands up for herself; however, and does a pretty good job of it. --I'll give credit where it's due. I'm glad Mallory stood up for herself. I put myself in that situation and I honestly think I would've been so shocked that I wouldn't have been able to say anything at all and the only thing I could say would be long after the fact
