Carol Brady's original name was Karen, and Mike even called her Karen in the pilot. Also she and her husband divorced. Sherwood Schwartz wanted that to be explicit, but the studio thought it wouldn't go over well on TV, even though the whole point of the show was based on an article Schwartz read about 30% of kids living in homes with only one birth parent due largely to divorces, and so he wanted a show to represent that.

Of course these rustic farmers do not own a microwave, so they make amazing technicolor jiffy-pop instead.

We have a mini carnival popcorn machine. :)

So Tia teaches her how to make "potato print" wrapping paper and wtf is that? Seriously, wtf is that?

Cut a potato in half. Cut a shape into each half. Use is like a stamp. It works really well. It's trendy with crunchy-moms right now.

all of the baby chickens I've seen were either white with slight tawny yellow, black, or brown.

I grew up country. Some are yellow when newly hatched.

And yet Karen's grandfather treats it like it's the most beautiful fucking thing since Poe. He outright CRIES while reading this tripe,

My daughter writes poems for me. They're bad, but they're written with love, and that makes them wonderful.

This man that they have never met, refers to them by name. And knows that they live in Stoneybrook, Connecticut.

This is where parents who care would raise hell with the airline for the lack of supervision. Even back then, you had to pay extra money for kids that age to fly alone since the airline needs to keep the attendant/passenger ratio lower so there's more direct supervision of the child. The airline also needs to seat children away from adults to help ensure that this much information isn't exchanged.
