I think Kristy is friends with Mary Anne because she’s easy to control and is the only one who will kiss her ass.--Exactly. Again, just look at the reaction over the haircut storyline. Mary Anne went ahead and cut her hair and Kristy decides to punish her.
I think sixteen is old enough to stay at a barbeque with some relatives without the rest of your family.--Exactly. I still say Claudia could miss the meeting but if she really couldn't, why bother taking Claudia to begin with instead of just leaving her alone while everybody else went to the bbq?
I’d be getting them as far away from Kristy as possible and getting them therapy so that they could realize that the BSC are a bunch of controlling and emotionally abusive, judgmental jerks, and not real friends--Agreed. I really would've loved to have seen an adult talk to one of the girls about how shitty her friends are, whether Mary Anne's being isolated because she cut her hair, Mallory's the punching bag of the group, etc.

I DO get the comment about not judging people by the cover, you might think a person has perfect health when in reality they might be having some health problems. And the opposite also applies, somebody that looks like they might have health problems might be totally healthy.
Abby’s reaction is a snarky, “Le gasp! Doesn’t your father know that Friday is a BSC meeting?”--I bet a lot of the ghostwriters filtered a lot of their thoughts through Abby. "Oh, I long to make this joke at the cult's expense but instead I have to have all the character in ass licking mode. And here comes Abby! I can at least put some of the lighter stuff into this character's thoughts."
Kristy is so insecure that she has to belittle other’s success to make herself feel better.--Which says a lot in itself, doesn't it? It reminds me of Dawn's passion for the environment as long as she feels special and people are kissing her ass. No ass kissing = "I'll scream if I hear recycle one more time!"
I like to write, but I’d write “Fuck you, Kristy,” over and over again. I’d also write a bunch of sexually explicit stuff and use the dumbest words for genitals and make the scenes either purple prosey or straight up smut.--I love it! lol!
