Update + A Thought
I hope I'm not breaking any rules with this, but it's been eating at me and I want to know what you all think. I saw something on TV that was worthy of snarking because it was literally like a transplanted BSC plot.
So I'm in the middle of reading Mystery #32: Claudia and the Mystery in the Painting which has not been snarked yet and hope to have my snark up on Wednesday. My box o' books from Amazon will be here Wednesday as well with the physical copy of the book so I'm saving my snark until I can get a look into the real thing. I also get off work early on Wednesday as the entire off pretty much says, "Eff it, Thanksgivin' times" and leaves early.
ANYWAY! I was watching The 90s are All That on TeenNick last night and an episode of Hey Dude came on. The episode was about a family who has to leave their daughter at the ranch for a few days due to a family emergency at home. How it all went down made my BSC Sense go off immediately.
1. The family said, "We have a family emergency back east so we were wondering if it'd be possible to leave Young Child here?"
- They were supposed to be from NYC, but when I heard back east and their shitty plan to leave their kids with some teenagers I instantly thought they were from Stoneybrook.
2. The family is on VACATION and leaves their daughter behind.
- Don't you just call the vacation quits? You're in Arizona and you have an emergency so you pack and leave. Why would you leave your daughter all the way across the country? You're wasting money that you could probably get partially refunded and your little kid might cause more money in damages.
3. The kid is a total brat.
- Bad acting of a bad attitude is just bad. Add the, "No one she believes me that she's a monster even though I'm the only one sitting" drama felt exactly like it belonged in a BSC book.
So what does everyone else think? Is this totally a BSC plot? Have you noticed anything else lately that's been so incredibly BSC?
