Chapters 5-8 ready and waiting. I know I'm slow, but it's appropriate for this slow, slow book.

Join me on a tale of abandoned houses and sick children...c'mon? Please? )

Amityville Horror is a pretty damn scary movie, I'll give them that.

Sacred burial ground...really. That hasn't been done to death or anything.

Don't knock syrup-less pancakes until you try them. I customarily just eat pancakes directly as I'm standing over the griddle making them - they're so delicious they really don't always need to be soaked in sugar.

I was kind of surprised Stacey had seen Amityville when I read this book. I was a weird child and watched a lot of horror movies long before I was probably old enough, but it isn't a common movie for a 13-year-old to have seen.

Syrupless pancakes are awesome. If they're dry, they've not been made properly--I mean, even McDonald's are moist/sweet enough not to need anything, and if you did want a little moisture, you can still butter them.

And blueberries are AWESOME.

she “just started at Claud’s earrings”. I think that’s a typo

Are you sure? Remember, this is Claudia. She probably had a real record hanging from one ear.

Stacey reads a little kids’ book in the waiting room and is embarrassed because there’s a hot guy who sees her reading a kids’ book.--Get a fucking grip, Stacey. It's not like Charlotte's in the doctor's office and you're reading it by yourself. For all that guy knows Charlotte's your sister and you're reading to your little sister.
