So, I'm on Spring Break right now, since I don't have classes on Friday, and instead of doing something productive (showering, cleaning, putting that fic into words rather than just imagining it in my head, or playing more Wii), I decided to try my hand at this thing ( Read more... )

If we're doing sparkly stuff then

IKR?

Of course the girl talked really fast so she had to write fast, but instead of just asking the girl to slow down and repeat herself, she just goes with her sloppy message.

A winnar is you. Just thought you should know that. From now on, when I snark, "skipped a grade" will be sparklified. Thanks to you, Basepair.

This plot seems to have been swiped from an episode of Full House, in which Michelle calls a joke hotline regularly until Danny gets the phone bill.

Right? a bunch of the "kid plots" seem to be swiped from Full House and the Brady Bunch.

OMG I knew this seemed insanely familiar!

Michelle and Karen were pretty much the same person, though...

It's hilarious, though, that Karen has to call hotlines to hog the phone instead of calling friends.

Someone on the ProBoard made that observation too...Karen is just like Michelle - despite what she does, even if it's naughty, we're always supposed to find it funny and cute.

"Sweetheart" is the middle name of actor Tobey Maguire's daughter Ruby. Apparently they were still naming her when she passed away, and she used to call her Sweetheart, so they named her in tribute. I actually think it's kind of cute, but definitely doesn't suit Karen.

Also, whoever modeled for Karen was HELLA fug. Or else the artist just sucks.

Just to clarify your post (unless I misread), Tobey's daughter is very much alive. She is indeed named Ruby Sweetheart though. I wikipediaed it to make sure and found this: "They have a daughter named Ruby Sweetheart Maguire (born November 10, 2006). Ruby's middle name comes from a childhood nickname of Meyer's given to her by her grandmother, who died a few months before Ruby's birth."

OH, I see. Yeah, from the other post, I thought she was dead, because there wasn't mention of a grandma in there.

Yeah, that's what I meant to type. Was in a bit of a rush. She's alive and well - cute kid, too!

Karen has like bizarre grown-man hands on the cover. Ugh.

Also, I am love with the phrase "severe case of bitchface" right now.

Isn't it great? As I was going to talk to the TA in my Linguistics discussion today, a girl in the second walked past me and just had such a bitchface on, and I was like "what's her deal" before I thought that maybe bitchface was her natural expression. Or something like that.

Creeeeeeeeeeeeepy...Kristy (in all her bitchfacey glory) looks *exactly* like this girl I went to grade school with! (No, I did not like said girl, and yes, she often had a severe case of bitchface, which has to be my new favorite term. ;) )

Also, I don't know anyone named Sweetheart, but I have come into contact with not one, but *two* people named Princess, one Honey, and some poor unfortunate soul with the middle name of Baby. (I miss being a manager, the names on peoples' submitted resumes were so fantastic.)

I wish I came with the whole bitchface thing, but sadly I just took it from one of the communities I watch. Still, I'm glad people like it.

Yeah, one day when I was at my old job, there was a Princess and another odd name that I can't remember, but I was like dot dot dot when I heard them. At my new one, we don't take names, we just get them their stuff and they pay.

Haha, my friend used to work for a talent manager and she'd tell me some of the more baffling names that came in. They saw a Princess too. Also a Diamond.
