I am now going to endorse ten beers into my mouth
It's been a month since I posted! A MONTH. WTF. Many awesome things have happened-I had a desfinado for a weekend (SPOILER: SHE'S AMAZING), I went to visit my BFF and her new baby in San Francisco for a weekend (and she brought me In-N-Out Burger TO THE AIRPORT when she picked me up, even though it was 10 pm and any reasonable person would have already eaten dinner, which is one of many reasons why she's my BFF; that and the fact that when the baby bit her while she was nursing, she looked down at him tenderly and said, "MotherFUCKER!" which is even more hilarious in light of the shy, soft-spoken girl she was when I first met her in college, OMG I love her so much), and I had an annaalamode this weekend and she is AWESOME, and I had a LOT of fun with my Bandom Reverse Big Bang story (even though I was late turning it in because I SUCK, and I deprived myself of much sleep), and I watched Magnificent Seven with fangirls (such a handsome show!), and I have watched a lot of clips of Amy Poehler being amazing and Adam Scott being amazing at making out with people. (Adam Scott also seems pretty amazing in general, as I find out more about him, but, like, okay. I LOVE BEN. A LOT. And Adam Scott is totally hot. But I am irresistibly attracted to him making out with people, in a way that was somehow independent of either my love of Ben or my own personal attraction to Adam Scott? I DON’T EVEN KNOW. HE JUST SEEMS REALLY GOOD AT IT. So yeah.)
Less awesome has been that work is KICKING MY ASS, and that has coincided with shit getting real with Bitchin' Party planning, so the last couple of weeks have been a little rough. (The other night I had not one but TWO anxiety dreams in a row! With bonus "person I respect being disappointed in me," which is always one of my favorite aspects of my anxiety dreams! AWESOME.) Also holy fuck the entire sales/catering staff of the BP hotel has changed, which they have done every time I've done this, but this time THEY ARE ALL MORONS. They have now failed at being competent with either room reservations OR catering planning. WHAT ELSE DOES A HOTEL DO BESIDES THOSE THINGS? HOW CAN YOU BE TOTALLY SHITTY AT ALL ASPECTS OF YOUR BUSINESS? Sigh. So, I am doing my best to get shit thoroughly sorted out beforehand so that there are no problems during the con itself. I HOPE. *crosses everything*
On the plus side, my reward on the other side of this is FANGIRLS, which is basically the best reward EVER and I am REALLY FUCKING EXCITED. I also seem to be having a lot of feelings right now… a short list of things that have made me sniffly (in a good way) in the past couple of days:
- Listening to "Welcome to the Black Parade." For some reason every time I hear this right now it's all WEEPY FEELINGS OF JOY. IDEK.
- The campaigning for Leslie Knope for Fandom March Madness. I don't really do FMM because I get irrational about it, but oh my god this. And this and this. And this! YES. ♥ I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT LESLIE KNOPE, YOU GUYS. I FEEL REALLY GOOD ABOUT THEM. Also about the fact that no matter what happens, a female character will win FMM this year. I approve.
- This post about Stephanie Brown as Batgirl. STEPH. <333333333333333 (Okay, those are not ENTIRELY tears of joy, given the DCnU. But MOSTLY.)
- This really amazing picspam of Lyn-Z and Steve from MSI, with bonus Kitty!, courtesy of the wonderful morebliss. LOOK HOW FUCKING ADORABLE THEY ARE. (Y'all, I am REALLY conflicted about MSI; they're going to be here TWO DAYS before BP and I have SO MUCH TO DO and the tickets are STUPID EXPENSIVE and the venue is TERRIBLE and it's really hard to SEE in there, so I had decided not to go, but. What if this is my last chance to see Lindsey EVER? LINDSEEEEEEEEY! Yet I don't really want to spend upwards of $50 on a ticket if I won't actually be able to SEE her, either. I don’t know what to dooooo. *sobs*)
Also this did not make me cry but it IS awesome: this amazing explanation of an inside joke that has taken on a life of its own with the Parks and Rec cast (guest star spoilers for a guest star who has already appeared this season). ADAM SCOTT IS EMAILING HIMSELF FROM A FAKE ACCOUNT THAT HE CREATED. I JUST. THAT IS SO GREAT. (I am also having quite the Mike Schur/Fire Joe Morgan renaissance right now, but this entry is long enough, so I will stop there. Except to say that this is a really great article about him and the P&R cast and it is smart and interesting and made me love them all a LOT.)
And finally, I seem to have a ticket to see David Cook open for Bon Jovi in Las Vegas at the end of April. HOW IS THIS MY LIFE. (But
sdwolfpup was going to be there already, so clearly the universe WANTED US TO GO.) It's… it's gonna be pretty awesome, y'all.
