Jeffrey Foucault PSA

Another email update from Jeffrey Foucault today... if you like him, you NEED to sign up for these; not only is it good to know what's going on with him, but they are ALWAYS entertaining. To me. I squealed when I saw this in my inbox today. Copied below, emphasis mine because OH MY GOD I LOVE HIM:

- I have a couple of shows this month with my pal Anders Parker, a songwriter whose records and beard I deeply admire. Previously a member of the seminal bands Varnaline and Space Needle, Anders has since released three solo records, an EP, and a live album under his own name, as well as a duo record with Son Volt's Jay Farrar, under the name Gob Iron. All in all one of the most prolific, acute, and hirsute players I have the pleasure to know and he'll be opening my shows in Cambridge and Brattleboro in the next few weeks. Go dig into www.andersparker.com for more information.

-On the afternoon of February 7th I'll be joining a number of other area musicians in a Haiti benefit held at Memorial Hall in Shelburne Falls, MA. All proceeds will go to Partners in Health to aid them in their ongoing relief efforts. Visit www.pih.org or www.standwithhaiti.org for further
information, or to make a contribution. I know it's Superbowl Sunday. You can miss the pre-game.

-Back in December the Milwaukee based crew of Soundpass filmed a short segment at the Cafe Carpe in Fort Atkinson WI, which starred Peter Mulvey, David Goodrich, Barry Rothman and myself talking and drinking beer in the afternoon. We also played a couple of my new songs. You can watch the short film at www.jeffreyfoucault.com/news.html

-High Country Low-Fi will once again heroically and without detectable irony reprise the classic country songs of the 20th century at the Rendezvous in Turners Falls MA, Tonight, 5 February, at 9pm.

GAAAAAAAAAAH I LOVE HIM. And WATCH THE VIDEO, it's fantastic. I know he has some new songs that are someone else's poetry that he's set to music, and he's also working on an album of entirely original stuff, so I don't know which category the songs in the video fall into; the first one doesn't quite sound like him (lyrically) but it is his type of theme, harvest and farms and whatnot, so I don't know. The second one sounds more like his lyrics, but--again--who knows. And musically, I definitely hear Kris' (his wife) influence on that one, which is pretty adorable. :)

I'm embedding the video below for maximum pimpability usability, but SERIOUSLY, CHECK IT OUT, and check out his tour dates. FOR HE IS AWESOME.
