Perhaps Allison would disapprove of this form of Robot Love?

Mainly I am just here to state for the record my intense, heart-bursting love for Allison Iraheta, and her fucking awesome new album. I AM SO PROUD OF HER. I was actually looking forward to this album the most out of the Kradison trifecta, and I'm THRILLED with it. It seems like the perfect mix of Allison's world-weary, whiskey-rough voice with ( Read more... )

ALLI ALLI YAY ALLI I LOVE YOU. I love both Kris and Adam's albums, so I can't wait to see how hers stack up. It's just crazy - since when are Idol albums actually good? (Sorry, DCook.)

And damn, that is a hella cheap price for the Farscape DVDs. So cheap, in fact, that I just ordered it and am now trying to cancel my Best Buy order. It was $69, which is pretty cheap itself, but they've been sending me emails saying that it's backordered. So...cheaper DVDs now, or wait indefinitely for slightly more expensive ones? I THINK THE ANSWER IS CLEAR. (There's a rumor that the Best Buy DVDs include The Peacekeeper Wars, but as I already own that separately, that's not exactly a tipping point.)

ALLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII. ALLI ALLI ALLI ALLI ALLI. SHE'S MY HERO. *bounces*

Sorry, DCook.

AWWW. I like Cook's album, personally. Or at least I like it roughly as much as I like Analog Heart, so whatever issues I have with it, I can't really blame Jive. (I actually sort of blame Raine Maida, since he's the co-writer on my two least favorite songs on the album, but WHATEVER. WRITE WITH NEAL, COOK. DO IT. DOOOOO EEEET. Ahem.) Of course, I'm hardly objective on this issue, but even on first listen, before I loved him and wanted to marry him and have his babies and be togetha 4EVA, I never disliked it, I just thought it was on the generic side. MMV, of course. :) But anyway, I've been really happy with all three of the albums from this year, and I hope they are all madly successful!

And YAY for Farscape DVDs! I am so psyched! And I'm with you--I already have PKW, so that's hardly a dealbreaker. \o/

I don't DISLIKE Cook's album, in fact, I like a lot of the songs. But like you said, it's a tad generic. Far more generic than the man himself is, that's for sure. I think both Kris and Adam's albums have an originality to them that Cook's lacks for the most part.

Farscape DVDs!! Maybe now I will finally finish my rewatch.

*nodnodnod* I'll go along with that. It's a total mystery to me how Cook's awesome doesn't quite translate to his songwriting; lord knows it's not because he's not eloquent. But I think he just hasn't quite found his songwriting voice yet, so I have hope for the future! (And in the meantime, he should WRITE WITH NEAL. And Zac Maloy, for that matter, who is AWESOME.)

Well, he didn't write much on his self-titled, did he? I guess that could have something to do with it (although I know he wrote on Analog Heart).

He co-wrote almost everything on his self-titled, except for Light On (which was Chris Cornell and some other dude) and... *goes to check* ... well, Magic Rainbow. Hee. And Bar-ba-sol was a cover from another band, though Cook got a co-writing credit on it because (as far as I can tell, having heard the original) they changed the lyrics slightly, but it's basically a cover. But everything else, he's got at least co-writing credit on, with solo credit on ADAM (which is a beautiful song, so there you go). How much of the writing he did on the co-writing ones is up for debate, I guess, but I don't think it sounds vastly different from Analog Heart, and yeah, AFAIK, he did a lot of the writing for that. (I heard somewhere that most of that album was songs that were originally intended for Axium, so there's probably some co-writing with those guys going on there, but I don't have the actual album so I don't have the songwriting credits handy, UNFORTUNATELY. I need to know these things, dammit ( ... )
