RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR.

Last night I was hoping to have time to (attempt to) write, and instead I spent most of the night out in the yard weeding, in the dark, because we got a letter from our homeowners association saying that we have three days to clean up our yard or we'll get fined, and Mr. McK couldn't help me because he was gone at class. (In fairness, our yard does look pretty bad. It's just bad timing that we got this notice right now.) I went to bed late, and slept like crap because there were sirens and lights and whatnot at like 2 in the morning, I have no idea why, but it woke me up and then gave me weird unsettled dreams, and then I must've turned off my alarm in my sleep so I overslept this morning and had to rush, which is bad because I needed to get to work early today so that I could leave early. And this week has been really stressful at work, in a bunch of stupid and annoying ways, and there's been a fair amount of drama, and this morning has been more of the same. And I'm all PMSy so obviously THAT is not helping, and I keep having to head off these "omg I suck as a writer/friend/person" shame spirals, and I KNOW I'm being ridiculous and overdramatic and that in a week I'll feel better, but right now, bleh. IT SUCKS.

On the plus side, it's a beautiful day, and I know things will be distinctly better in about 8 hours. And I was sad because I was going to buy "Live Like We're Dying" this morning before I left only I didn't have time, but then I remembered that I have iTunes on my work computer so I bought it here, and that made me feel better for some totally illogical reason (I mean, first-day sales are a thing, right? I want to help!), as well as for the totally logical reason that the song makes me happy. And there is this puppy, and this hamster eating a Fig Newton. So that's good. EIGHT HOURS. IT WILL BE FINE.

ETA: In news NOT about me: very very happy birthday to spuffyduds and pellucid! You are both fabulous and I wish you much joy.

today can blow me, whining
