When constabulary duty's to be done
How is it after 3pm already? *cries* At least I finally got my oil changed today, so as to be prepared for my blink-and-you'll-miss-it trip to Vancouver next weekend to hang with Sal (and Sig) and brave Titus Andronicus. I am very excited! (Hey, slidellra and malnpudl: what was that one location again? The one from the end of HCL?)
Not surprisingly, my brain radio has been tuned to WKROMGHUU all weekend, but I do have one non-Hugh thing to pass along before I get into that: asta77 and beccatoria have joined forces to bring us The Ladies' Choice, an adorable and very clever BSG vid that celebrates the really quite extreme hotness of the men of the Colonial Fleet. So go check it out and tell Asta and Beccatoria how awesome it is!
PSA: If you missed the premiere of Flashpoint, CBS and CTV are re-airing it tonight (Sunday) at 10 pm. Americans can also watch it streaming here on CBS.com; Canadian viewers can go here. Aside from its smoking hot lead and the inclusion of Keith Mars (who I believe is going to be the focus of next week's episode), Flashpoint boasts some gorgeous cinematography (check out a sampling of screencaps here and here, courtesy of meresy), a solid script, and a very strong team dynamic that hits my "yay team" kink HARD. It also boasts Amy Jo Johnson in a laid-back, kick-ass turn as a sniper (seriously, I am kind of utterly in love with her already, just based on this one episode). So if that sounds like your thing, give it a shot--I was obviously going to be glued to this show anyway, but the fact that it has the potential to be AWESOME is quite the bonus. :)
It's probably too early to start a Flashpoint comm called "sniperseatpie", isn't it? Okay. I'll wait. And is anyone else busily mentally vidding Headstones songs to this show? Just me, then? All righty.
Other Hugh news: I'm a few episodes behind on INK, but I was watching the one on gender and sexuality today and OH MY GOD. Say... all of that. SLOWER. Guh. *fans self* (Also, the little grin on "unattainable" is possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen. Okay, it's not as cute as the Gilbert and Sullivan, or the grin at the beginning of HCL. But it's RIGHT UP THERE.)
Also, from the We Knew Him When files, a couple of Hugh's gems from a bootleg I was listening to the other day. First, re: Smile and Wave: "Here's one out of the old rock 'n' roll fuck-wallet..." Oh, sure. FUCK-WALLET. Yes. I have several of those! *snickering* And then: "I just saw a couple of girls in the front get hit by [something I can't make out]... so you gutless fuckers in the back, that could be your sister or your mom, so you might wanna use some discretion..." D'AWWWWW. ♥ Hugh Dillon: equal parts chivalry and profanity! And also entirely awesome.
