They've got a strange obsession for my automatic weapon

OH MY GOD FLASHPOINT. We had the EXTREME pleasure of watching this courtesy of sdwolfpup and her big-ass HDTV, and DAMN. That was AWESOME. As was the company in general, as was the fact that as soon as the show started, zabira and mrs_laugh_track and I squished ourselves as close together as possible and proceeded to DIE TOGETHER REPEATEDLY for the next hour or so ( Read more... )

You should BE HERE, Meres! *tries to drag you through the computer*

We could do Flashpoint at CanCon, though! Though that would kind of derail my Toronto-nightlife plan for Friday night. BUT. I think I would be willing to make that sacrifice! *g*

We should totally have Flashpoint at CanCon! We can always dl it Saturday and watch it on the projector in the meeting room y/fy?

But we could do both! In summer, the nightlife BEGINS at 11! And it'll feel like 9 to you!

OH MFY, dude. YES. THAT MUST HAPPEN. Please?

But that is also good to know about the Toronto nightlife! I was wondering how that broke down. And it will actually feel like 8 to me, so that is even better. I will have just come off a plane earlier, so that is not ideal, but I think I should be able to rally myself. *g* And really, my plans are very nebulous at this point: mainly, I want to go to the Wheat Sheaf Tavern, because Hugh and Trent used to hang out there all the time. /superdork But I hear that it has a patio and is a great spot for people-watching, so... I am sold, pretty much!

OKAY! We will convince Nos. :D

I can do math! Sometimes! Really.

Bars are usually open 'til 2am, so yeah. *g* I mean, earlier in the evening is the PREDRINKING and then at 11 you go OUT. :D

Tavern sounds good! I like taverns. Where is it at?

AWESOME. The Wheat Sheaf isn't all that far from our hotel, if I'm reading the map right: it's here. It's the oldest tavern in Toronto, apparently! It's in Z's guidebook! And Hugh and Trent used to go there and load up the jukebox trying to outdo each other in name-that-tune, and then one day they went in and one of their songs was on the jukebox, and they were all excited. So I'm really hoping there is at least one Headstones song still on the jukebox. :D

Hmmmmm, fairly far. Not too bad on a nice night, but a 20minute walk at least, and you'll be all travel-weary. I'm not sure if St Andrew or Osgoode is the nearest station, but I'll suss it out. (Bonus points: Osgoode station was in Flashpoint. :D.)

We shall go! \o/

YAY! You are the most awesome Toronto tour guide ever! \meres/ I am also not opposed to taking a cab, if that's an option. But I'm fine with walking (shoes permitting) or public transport or whatever!

Cabs are always an option. Toronto is crawling with taxis.

St. Andrew's subway station is not a far hop up Adelaide from there, though. :D We could just hop 5 stations down from the hotel, and ta-da! Shave it down to a dozen minute walk west, y/y? Easy.

Google maps-fu. I has it.

That sounds PERFECT! I'd rather walk at least some of the way anyway; all part of the Soaking Up the City experience. :) Thank you so much for the map-fu!! I may enlist your aid in finding the best way to get out to Metamporphosis Jewelry, too--that's the guy who made our Headstones rings, and I'd love to stop in and thank him in person. That's way out on the east side, though, so it's going to be a little more involved to get there. But I'd like to!

It will take you some time, but it isn't hard to get to Metamorphosis Jewelry. You take the Bloor subway (TTC) line East to Main street station, and then you walk east on Danforth until you reach Dawes Rd. and go north up Dawes.

Wow, thank you so much! Have you been to the shop, then? He does such beautiful work, and he seems like such a sweet guy.

I haven't been to the shop, I know where it is by complete coincidence. Last year I lived in T.O. for school and my evil roommate needed directions for that store... which he then wrote on my wall above the phone. :(

Wow, that is kind of an insane coincidence! Thank you very much for the info, though I'm sorry it had to be painfully acquired.
