Well I managed to get through the Festival preperation ... just! It meant doing days starting at 7am and finishing at 11.30pm while fitting in a visit to David in the hospital. I was bloody knackered and stressed but managed somehow. Today was the first day of the Festival and now that it's started and I’m all organised I’m feeling much better about life.

David's situation however isn't improving. Since my last update his stomach cramps, nausea and tenderness have gone. He came off the drip and is now eating and drinking. Good eh? You'd think so but unfortunately he's still suffering from fevers (sometimes reaching temperatures over 39°C! ). This is obviously taking it's tole and keeping him very weak. David's consultant wasn't happy with the situation and so ordered another CT scan to see what was happening.

The results that came back were his appendix has calmed down but the pancreas has become more inflamed (which means if this carries on he'll be nil by mouth again and artificially nutrient fed ... David does not want this!) More worryingly however blood clots have been found in his veins leading to the spleen and liver. He is been taken off the antibiotics (despite finding infection in his blook culture) because of lack of response to the antibiotics and side affects. He is now going on anti-coagulants.

The consultant has told us that he's unsure of what is happening and what he should do. It's just a wait and see situation with no plan of actioin as such and no leaving date in sight. As I'm sure you can imagine David is feeling pretty down at the moment.

Thank you for the card Mike, it arrived today and I passed it on to David this evening :o)
