Long weeks at the moment - it's been very busy and I am tired. Probably partly thanks to a flu jab on Monday, which gave me enough symptoms (tiredness mostly) that I got a PCR test yesterday thanks to the research study I'm in. Came back negative, which is reassuring after too many people I know have been exposed lately.
It *should* be quieter now for a bit, so I might have space to breathe. Maybe. Meanwhile, some quick meme.
16. Which family member did you inherit your hair color from?
My dad, though it's pretty much the same colour as my mum's brother, so I don't think there was much of a struggle in the gene pool. My mum and her mum were much darker.
17. What’s the average length of a shower for you?
Short - 3 minutes maybe, 5 minutes in a bath. I hate hanging around in the wet.
18. What’s something about adult life you were never warned of or prepared for?
Loads, but I think the fact very few people actually know what they're doing is something that dawns horribly on you at some point.
19. If you won the lottery, do you think any of your family members would ask you to give them some of your money?
Doubt it. My folks certainly wouldn't - they are givers out of cash, even now. Cousins etc would have a goddamn nerve. The boyf might well encourage me to spend it in a way that would work for him (a bigger living space would make it so much easier for him to spend time here, especially now we're working from home much more), but that would be a side benefit rather than the point. In a perfect world I'd live somewhere with more windows and less terrible past DIY, so it would be a blessing.
20. What is the craziest thing you’ve seen happen at your workplace?
We get a fair range of celebs and VIPs - nothing too spectacular happening with them, but having armed security hanging around your office as some dignitary gets the tour is weird. Otherwise it's mainly the interface of our quite vibrant wildlife with our revolving front doors - a swan was a problem, but the squirrel that got into the public canteen took way longer to sort. It was quite... active.
21. Would you rather read a book or listen to the audiobook?
Read, any day. I love listening to voices, and podcasts have been lifesavers in the pandemic, but I nod off listening to audiobooks. That definitely has its place, but it's more of a sleep aid than a way to enjoy a plot point.
22. Have you ever eaten snow?
23. Curtains or blinds?
24. Have you ever adopted a stray (cat or dog)?
25. Do you own/wear any jumpsuits?
26. Do you struggle with dry skin in the winter?
27. Have you ever gotten angry at an employee and complained to the manager?
28. Do you add unnecessary letters to the end of words?
29. What was the last thing you used your phone for, besides calling/texting?
30. Do you always check the prices of things when you buy groceries?
31. How many nights per week do you cook dinner at home vs. going out to eat?
