3 What’s your favorite cake (or not-cake) for your birthday?
I've just recommended someone else make a lemon drizzle with an elderflower twist for an upcoming birthday. But mine's in December, which doesn't suit such flowery flavours. I love a rich gateau made with potato flour, and sandwiched with something that sinks in - stewed apple, custard, something like that. Walnut or chocolate for the cake flavour/icing. We have a family recipe for these which are incredibly long and tedious to make, but so good when you bother.
4 What item of clothing is your least favorite to shop for?
Ugh, bras. Especially if Debenhams goes under, they being purveyors of the only decent wide-enough, non-padded, but-wired bras for bigger boobs. Mind you, I also hate buying fitted trousers now that I'm at the upper end of most shops' sizing, or just beyond it. Endless disappointment and self-loathing in changing rooms. I shall not buy trousers in lockdown, let's face it. Another upside.
