Temporarily ficced out

Jan 28, 2013 19:22

I've had one of those intensive working days when you really don't get much time to think or breathe. I seem to be having a lot of those lately. Also still feeling a bit bleurghy for no good reason. I'm out of ficlet ideas, temporarily, no doubt. A couple of nice recs for my stuff today have linked to things I'm glad to have written, and reminded ( Read more... )

I've written about 300+ stories in under 5 years. Um, wow, I knew you were prolific but that's amazing!

Heh. 286 BtVS fics on AO3, and a bunch of others listed in other fandoms, but I'm mostly discounting the 70-odd AtS because so much AtS I write is tagged as BtVS. So it's probably well under 350, plus a few new ones not uploaded yet. June 2008 is when I first did a drabble. And, I think, several other drabbles followed smartly... I'm not sure all my little ones are captured on AO3, but it seems fair enough as an estimate.

A few are very long, like Green Card, but mostly they are under 2000 words. So it's not quite so vast as it may appear. I'm about to hit 500k words on AO3, probably at my next upload.

Interesting. I hardly ever do memes. Maybe I should make an exception for this one?

Except I feel I've long since blurted out the answer to all these questions.

It's quite a nice one to reflect on, especially as I've picked up some new friends via memes lately.

*makes a mental note to not shorten it to Brutti anymore!*

Hee - my argument against getting an LJ for years was "but I have a web site, I don't need another one!".

Heh. I don't actually mind brutti, you know? Just... it doesn't quite work as a nickname.

Hee! You're welcome just as you are.

And yeah, I've seen many a kerfuffle from the outside. Not fun.

Oh, interesting. I think there are quite a few answers of mine that'd be similar if I did this. :-)

Although my period of having no friends... I wish I hadn't posted. I sort of posted and talked to myself and hoped the friending thing would happen somehow. Thankfully it did, and I think it was only a few months - I knew people from Teaspoon, the DW archive - but I do keep thinking I should go back and hide those first entries.

Anyway, congrats on all the fic. And hope you feel less tired soon.

Good! We are compatible, evidently.

I did some bibbling posts too, hoping to be detected as a fascinating person (and one or two TMI subsequently which got unscreened when I exported my journal to DW. Which wasn't great). But then I shut up for ages. I had no confidence at all that anyone would be interested in my comments; it wasn't till I started writing and realised every 'Really liked this!' comment genuinely cheered me that I actually got how LJ could work. Baby steps; I helped to beta for rahirah for a bit before that, which was probably the first real confidence boosting.

Yes, and thank goodness. Just think, otherwise I'd have to flounce off, have a one-sided LJ war and then defriend you or something. ;-)

I think I'd already got the commentng thing - I came to LJ from the frustration of a fic archive not really being the best place to have interesting conversations about fic and fannish stuff with nice people. Lj, however, is.
