That increasingly cursory fic meme continuums...

18 - Where do you get the most inspiration for your fics (aka "bunnies") from?

Prompts and requests. My level of originality is very low. Only my two verses have come from real 'what if' scenarios, and both of those were actually prompts (although I like to think someone else prompted post-Chosen Faith/Giles wouldn't necessarily have written the Rulesverse, nor someone else given 'just married' have decided on the Green Card verse). I may be doing something at WriterCon UK on prompts, 'samatteroffact, and if not I'll share my thoughts here at some point.

19 - When you have bunnies, do you sit down and start writing right away, or do you write down the idea for further use?

Write now! I don’t have a stack of future fic lined up. If I sit on an idea, it goes stale, to mix my metaphors. I mostly write short things anyway, which I suspect has a bearing - I'm not usually in the middle of Fic A when a bunny for Fic B nibbles.

20 -Do you ever get bunnied from other people's stories or art in the same fandom?

Yes, but not often. I suspect shapinglight's marriage verse affected mine, for example, but it's not a direct progression. Sometimes my comments on someone else's fic start a thought going, or someone's comments on mine. I'm always happy for others to take bunnies from my fic too, of course!

21 - Sequels - Have you ever written a sequel to a fic you wrote, and if so, why, and if not, how do you feel about sequels?

Yes, yes, that's what the verses are alllllll about. If I actually come up with something original in terms of a scenario, I like to live with it for a while and see how it goes. Otherwise, not so much, though I once wrote two POV remixes of a one-off porny Illyria/Giles/Spike because their different voices are such fun to play with and I couldn’t resist.

Oh, and if you want a little Firefly, a meandering Zoe/River ficlet is here
