it's pretty cool having a computer in my room. my cousin let me move his laptop into my room for a couple of days, so i can type a paper and a take home test. i can't believe i just e-mailed my ex-girlfriend and told her that i fooled around with her friend. it's not her best friend, but a good enough friend. it happened about three weeks ago

Yep, stress is not your friend, so don't let it hang around with you. You wouldn't let C. Dakins or someone hang around--how is stress any different?

And I approve of your actions with regard to Angela. Because she may hate you for a minute for doing it, but in the long run there were two scenarios:
1) The other girl told her first, in which case Angela would be wondering when or if you would have the balls to come clean.
2) She didn't know, in which case she's now thinking 'Boy, I would have thought that (insert friend's name here) would have told me first. Because this confession was not a typical guy thing to do, in my estimation. Most guys would just wait to get 'caught', then try to weasel out of it.

As far as I know, I mean. Maybe you should ask a girl...

thank you. getting the female perspective could be useful. for now i am going to remain holed up in my room until i get word, or before i finish my paper, could be a long couple of weeks.
