The above is a line from a story I'm working on. Like it? It's about two mercenaries searching for jobs in space. One used to be a cop and the other an assassin...and at one time they both tried to kill each other. Who else is excited to see what wacky trouble they get into as they traverse the cosmos?
Basically I wanted to explore the life of a mercenary, people that are hired to fight in wars and conflicts they don't believe in. They watch the struggle of a nation and people and yet they aren't part of it. Intriguing stuff. Unlike most of my stuff this one won't have a gay main character. Yet.
I've felt that I've become enlightened lately. Particularly in regards to my parents. I know I'm always prattling on about how crazy my mom is, but I've realized that she isn't as...tainted as I thought her to be and I believe that this was my fault. It's one of those things where you believe it to be true so it becomes true whether it is or isn't.
We had a little talk recently which shed some light on both her and my dad. But the weird thing now is that my view of my dad is somewhat skewed, kind of like finding out that someone you thought loved you was only playing. I think we all just need to sit down and converse, come together and air the house as it were.
I love my friends. The end. It's nice to surround yourself with multiple personalities. The friends I work with are totally different from the friends I share my spirit with, and that's a good thing.
I know that it seems that the light of the world is getting darker, being eaten away by the darkeness at the edge of reason, but I have a strong belief that if we keep our heads up, focus on the good instead of the bad we'll be okay. Yes, there seems to be chaos and cataclysm with every turn of the Earth, but if the human spirit has managed to survive wars, plagues, tyrants, slavery, and the degredations of the modern world, than I think we can survive damn near anything.
Lift up your head, child, for the glory and the grace stands before you.
