Another Day Gone

Oct 20, 2005 00:45

People keep saying the days are getting continuously faster. Sometimes I think they are, but when I look at days like yesterday and today, I realize that I'm filling them with so much stuff that they are worth it.

I've noticed myself being incresingly intellectual lately. Well that doesn't sound like news :), but I've been pondering answers to questions I've never thought about before like (sorry if I bore you) where the energy goes once a car burns the fuel, or how a certain painting reflects the history and growth of the Dutch. I FIND THAT INTERESTING, and I glad that I can finally fill my mind with complicated things that I ENJOY figuring out. I had a whole email conversation with my environmental science professor and tf about the energy thing. Turns out an idea I had about recapturing energy was the exact idea that led to the invention of the hybrid car. Why couldn't I have thought of that 20 years ago? Oh, yeah, I wasn't alive :) I'm slowly finding my niche.

Submitted my best beat article yet today. I was very proud of it because I did it all myself and ran into virtually no complications. When I went to interview Bill Walter (the director of facilities management) yesterday, I was welcomed like a grandchild almost. I even got a whole tour of the offices and operations. I know it sounds geeky, but I felt really connected to my university. I really need to get a voice recorder (check that off for my channukah list!), to remember everything a really fast talking new yorker says. So, not only did that get turned it, but I have article ideas for the next two weeks. Good ones! (considering the context).

Here's to another quirk of mine...I flipped out today when I saw the RENT movie commercial for the first time. NOVEMBER 23!!! SO EXCITED!!! I wonder if I'll be able to drag anyone with me or if they are all going to be too scared to see it with a rent-freak and make me go by myself. :) :) :) :)

I have a bio test tomorrow on the EXACT same stuff as my last envir. science test. This is great. I love how every single one of my classes overlaps at least once.

Tomorrow - babysitting for Olivia and Annie!!! I can't wait to see their smiling faces again. Then after that, free movie at amc fenway!! If anyone wants to come with to see the new Steve Martin and Claire Danes movie "Shopgirl" I got a bunch of free tickets. Let me know! I have no idea what it's about, but who can pass up a free movie?
