Planning Ahead

This was an awesome weekend. One of those weekends you look back on and wish you could repeat. Not for any particular reason. It was just nice.

Sunday was spent partially in Starbucks observing the early-morning go-getters and the late morning addicts, oh, and of course reading. I highly recommend the book "The Object Stares Back" by James Elkins. It will change your perspective of seeing forever. So that means I finally finished "Naked." I have to say I wasn't as impressed as I was with "Me Talk Pretty," but it was somewhat amusing. "Catcher in the Rye" is next. I think that's one of those books you have to read before you turn 20 or something, just because, so I'm reading it. Sentence structure is very choppy. Perhaps that's why I'm mimicing it? Sorry if this is annoying anyone. Sentence structure is surely bizzare.

Enough about my passion that is literature.

My room is one step closer to being the awesomest it can be. Even Brian (the Brasilian who doesn't look it) thinks our room is the coolest in the Annex :) Ginny and I spent an hour and a half hanging not-christmas lights up on the ceiling. It looks quite nice and adds a hue of soft light to the room. It's still missing something though...

Today I made progress on Kalaniot stuff, yay for fundraising! I also met with an advisor in the geography department. She was so informative and helpful. Did you know there are only about 170 undergrad environmental science majors here? I thought it would be more. So I have a meeting with a professor soon to discuss more specific class stuff. She also told me about the School of Field Studies, which is basically a study abroad program in environmental science. Wow. I so want to do it now. The price is less than half of what I would pay at BU and I could go to places like Kenya, Cairns or Turks & Caicos. What I wouldn't give. So that got me REALLY exicted today. Would you come visit me in Kenya? I'd let you pet the elephant :)

Had dinner with Brittany at India Quality. I really love that place. That was now twice in 2 weeks. (btw...2 weeks and going strong!). I'm going to miss Brittany, but I'm glad we got to spend some one-on-one time, that's what I needed.

Now it's bedtime because I have an art midterm in the moring and I NEED to stay awake during the whole hour and a half :)
