Lawmakers to head off picketing at Tucson funerals
Arizona legislators planned to consider emergency legislation Tuesday to head off picketing by a Topeka, Kan., church at the funeral service for a 9-year-old girl who was among six people killed during Saturday’s shooting in Tucson.
Picketing a murdered nine year old girl’s funeral? You know, I’m beginning to think what we need to do with this hateful group, at least as far as the media goes - I actually think the Westboro Baptist “church” members all need to be involuntarily committed to a psychiatric ward and get some much needed therapy - is to utterly ignore them from here on out. Complete silence. We need to turn our backs on them. Not one more word said about them, not one more word printed about them, not one more word broadcast about them. Not one more word.
(ETA: The emergency legislation has been passed. Will be interesting to see what develops out of it; as much as I approve of it, I’m not certain it’s constitutional.)
